"Mickey's" Philharmagic is really...

i'm surprised nothing is mentioned about what happens to donald at the end (i.e., the back wall) and how that's even continued on into the theming of the gift shop.

My boys are wearing their t-shirts with Donald on the front and back today (and every other day it's their favorite)

The downside of your review ROBO is that I am a little bummed I'm not there right now. I'll have to wait until Oct.

ITA!!!! I just saqw it for the first time in July during EMH am hours and after we saw it we went right back in and saw it again. I too always reach for those pretty, pretty jewels.

The bummer about MP? My DH has lazy eye pirate: and cannot see 3-D so I guess I'll be seeing it alone a lot next January.

Yes he can!!!! My son has SIGNIFICANT strabismus. He does not have binocular vision.

We avoided this on our first trip because we thought he wouldn't be able to see in 3D. On our second trip we took our niece and I wanted her to see it.... we warned DS(6 at the time) that he may not get to see it.

He did see it!!!! He saw it all in 3D. It was incredible watching him do something we were told would never happen.

So.... give it a try!!!!

BTW... my son is going in for his 4th strabismus surgery on August 20th. This time we are just working on his left eye. We are going to WDW on Sept 14th. We decided to squeeze in this surgery before our trip because we wanted to give him the best opportunity at seeing in 3D again.

Robo...love this!
In my opinion if a person could only go to one attraction in all of WDW it should be Mickey's Philharmagic. I generally go at least 3 times when we're there...I just love it.

Also to second on the vision question, my dh has an eye disease similar to macular degeneration and he has lost a great deal of vision in his right eye (had to have a portion lasered out, etc). He says the 3D is somewhat difficult for him as well, but he still absolutely loves Mickey's Philharmagic. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Yeah, once again Donald does all the swork and that dang mouse gets all the credit. Quack ack ack ack. It is my favorite thing in all of WDW. We're going to DL this year and no MP is my greatest regret.

I love the show. Don't forget to breathe deeply with your nose during "Beauty & the Beast".

Philharmagic is byfar one of my absolute favorites!! I think the best part of the whole attraction is that amazing apple pie smell!

Wonderful review Robo!

My family definitely loves Philarmagic. I treasure the memory of my twin dd's when they were 4 grabbing at Arial's jewels. It was so precious! They still love it and they are all now in the double digit years. It's my favorite 3-d at WDW, the others pale in comparison!

This is one of our favorites too. By far, my favorite movie-type attraction (currently I'd put Soarin' at No. 2 b/c I prefer Philharmagic's Disney theme.) I'm always surprised by friends who bypass this on their trip. Those who are planning their trip, I tell them to be sure not to miss it!

This doesn't exactly jibe with recommended touring suggestions, but for someone visiting WDW for the 1st time, I think it would be awesome to see Mickey's Philharmagic first, as it gives one the classic Disney experience.

Nice review, Robo. :3dglasses

Last year it took me about an hour to figure out what attraction my daughter kept telling us she wanted to see. She kept saying "Fill Your Magic." So that's what it will always be to us. We see it 6-7 times each year.

Mickey's (or should I say Donald's :donald:) PhilharMagic is my all-time #1 favorite attraction in ALL of WDW. To me it just captures the true essence of what Disney is all about, from the characters and songs to the animation and special effects.

I was lucky enough to see a "rehearsal" of PhilarharMagic in September 2003 before it had "officially" opened. A sign was posted on Main Street advertising a preview of it every day of our trip, and each time we went to go try it, we got to the last preshow room and CMs would tell us that they were having techinical difficulties and we couldn't see the show. Finally, after the same result two or three times, we gave it one final try on our last day and there were no technical issues and we got to see the whole show. It was amazing. I'll never forget that first initial viewing and how "wow'd" I was. :wizard:

Always love your posts, Robo, but had to reply to this one...you described it perfectly! This is absolutely my favorite attraction at MK, maybe in all of WDW. I've always loved the Disney music, and this combines so many of the great songs and movies in one wonderful montage! I just always feel like "this is Disney" when I'm watching it and it's ultimate confirmation that I'm in my "happy place." Plus, I've always had a soft spot for Donald (and Grumpy)...not sure what that says about me.:rolleyes1 You also can't beat the wonder on your children's faces as they reach out to grab Ariel's jewels or to rescue Donald...regardless how many times they've tried and failed in the past.

The story of TXTink's mom seeing the 3D made me tear up a little. That's is what Disney Magic is made of.

As far as the smells that go with the sights I was stunned. It took a minute to figure out if it really was smelling that good or if it was in head. We almost didn't go, but happened to be by the entrance when there wasn't much of a line so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that we did! It's one of my favorite rides...

Like a lot of others, I wish that Donald got top billing on the ride, but then it would give away some of the fun. After all, it should have been Mickey's, but Donald jumped in!

I agree 1000%! I have been to Disney 8 times, but this was new since I had last been there. We watched it twice and it very very quickly became one of my favorites.

Thank you for your kind words and your experiences on MP.

WOW...Robo quoted my post! You're very welcome...I feel like I've had a brush with greatness!:worship:

"Fill your magic"! Cute!!! :) We love this attraction too.

We took our 2 year old to see it last year and she was mad at Donald Duck for the rest of the trip for taking Mickey's hat. She let him have it when she saw him later that day!

its funny because ive always called it donalds philharmagic. even the gift shop is all donald, so i guess i just never realied:confused3 .

i love this show and look forward to it every trip.

unfortunately it holds my least favorite disney memory, and that has kind of ruined it for me. when my daughter was 6 we lost her coming out of this show, she was gone for about 45 minutes. this will be my first trip back since then...we'll just hold on to everyone better this time:goodvibes
