Congratulations Corinna on getting that Transatlantic cabin!! I have been waiting for ages for the European cruises to come out, and now that they have, we can't go

Because... we're getting MARRIED!! We're going to Disney World in August 2010 to get married at the Wedding Pavilion. I am soooo excited

Hope you guys are good since the cruise! It's even more busy here what with a wedding to plan

Ah, thanks Dawn? How bad was the storm? We should be thankful we had NO problems.

It was just a cold front that went through but there would some strong winds with it. I don't know how bad it was over on the other coast though. I would say here it didn't get above 20mph.

That looked seriously scary! I am so glad that nobody got hurt.

The weather here is is awful at the moment. They had forecast 8 inches of snow over night, but fortunately none of that materialized. Still, it is cold and wet here.

Work is a zoo at the moment. We have loads of customers stranded in Bangkok at the moment due to the political unrest there. Things have now calmed down and the airport is supposed to reopen on Friday, but only in a very limited capacity. Our Bangkok office has people standing in line for 12 hours plus and we have about 50 calls waiting at any given time even with maximum overtime. Customers are getting more nasty from day to day. I can understand the people who are stuck in Bangkok even though it is definitely not our fault, but the people who are still at home and have been unable to travel to Bangkok are worse. Personally, nothing could convince me at the moment to travel to Bangkok.

Hi, Ladies,

Sorry to hear about the monstrous atmosphere at work Corinna. How long do you think it's going to take for the flow of travelers to and from to regulate? I need to know because I'm just dying to go to Bangkok as soon as possible. When can you get me on a plane!!! (NOT). Seriously, I am interested in how this plays out for you.

I am hellishly busy with non-career (unless you consider a homeschooling keeper of the home a career) items these days. I popped over to the DIsboard for a mental respite while I upload a book onto my ipod for tonight. I work 3rd shift at Toys R Us over the holiday shopping season. It's a great part time job. There are six of us on the overnight crew. We dress in our grubbiest clothes and we don't have to deal with any people -just boxes and toys. Most of us listen to our ipods as we work. The night goes fast because we're always moving. I've thought about wearing a pedometer on my belt to see how many miles I walk in a night. The only downside is having to sleep during the day and missing out on most of the day's daylight and chores that can only be done in the daytime pile up. It's only 3 nights a week for the month of November and December.

We all worked over after Thanksgiving night so we could help with the Black Friday shopping. It was a madhouse! We ran out of shopping carts almost immediately. It's actually fun for the floor workers and the store paid for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and I'll do almost anything for good food.

Hi guys (actually Ladies), I too am missing my cruising buddies. I cannot believe it's only three weeks til Christmas. This time last year we were preparing for our very first Disney Christmas (no we didn't go during Christmas). We had an early Christmas the week of the 10th down there since our Daughter was interning at WDW. What a beautiful place to see so decorated. We are counting down to our trip in May, but do have a one day highlight in January. We will be in Disney for my friends Vow Renewal! So I get a mini uplift until spring.

I miss all of you guys too! I have been calling the radio station every day this week to win the four pack of Disney theme park tictets they are giving away. I think I could make a career out of being caller number 3!

Corinna, so sorry to hear work is a bear right now. It is amazing how people can be so unreasonable. I understand being frustrated, I really do, but when it is something beyond anyone's control they need to understand that. I think sometimes people act they way they do to try and get free stuff.

Monica, sounds like a great part time job. I bet the evening does go fast with so much to do. I am not one to go to the stores, working or shopping, on black Friday. People just get so carried away at times and I have heard to many horror stories to want to get in that mess. Perhaps if people would learn to pack their patience things would be more enjoyable for everyone. I was horrified to read the story about the man in Walmart that lost is life because of some truly unfeeling senseless careless people.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays. This is truly my favorite time of the year!! Tomorrow my brother is flying in for the weekend. We are going to have family pictures taken on the beach. They typically turn out really nice. Everyone take care!!

Merry Christmas to you all

Things at work fortunately returned to normal soon after I posted the ast time and all people who were stuck in Bangkok where back where they belonged within a week.

We had a big work Christmas party and then the following work some of the team leaders, the secretaries and some of management went out for a Thai banquet, which was a lovely occassion. The food was fantastic and a good time was had by all.

I actually got around to bake some traditional German Christmas cookies as well this year. I was organising the Secret Santa for our German language team this year and I decided that I would bake some cookies for this. There is really no point baking cookies for just two people, but they were well received at work and I kept some back for us to enjoy over the holidays.

I had today off and we headed to town to get some vegetables and some other odds and ends. It was not half as busy as I had expected and loads of places have already started their sales. I managed to get a pair of Mammoth Crocs at a 30% discount so I shall wear them to work tomorrow. I also got a few odds and ends to go with DH Christmas present at a really good price.

I am on the early shift over Christmas. We will have a bring and share buffet at work tomorrow and I will bring my famous pasta salad which I have yet to make. DH will cook the Christmas dinner tomorrow and when I come home from work, we will have Christmas dinner and unwrap the presents. Tonight we just had some finger food and Gluehwein (a German hot spiced red wine)

Five minutes of Christmas left. I hope you all had a good time with your families and friends. We're at my inlaws until Sunday morning. Then we'll stop at my dad's before going home. It's been a good visit so far. If the next two days go well, it will be the best Christmas yet. The kids were thrilled with their gifts, especially Rockband for Wii and made everyone take a turn at it. Unfortunately, Warren's brother and his family were no-shows and so were my sister and her family. We were very disappointed, even though this has happened enough times that we shouldn't expect it otherwise.

Being so focused on Christmas, I always forget my anniversary is the week after!

We had an awesome Christmas, but are still awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild. She is due to be born on Tuesday, but the doc said she won't let her more than a week late, so within the next two weeks we'll have our granddaughter. I think everyone was happy with all that they got this year. I am off to run at the Y and then hopefully just relax today. I hope you all have an amazing New Year. I know our year was full of highlights and one of those was meeting many of you.

Merry Christmas (post dated ) Everyone!! I hope Santa was good to everyone this year! We had a wonderful Christmas. Our family tradition is the "blue tail fly" which is an alcoholic drink. I am quite warm and toasty at the moment. hehe I wish many blessings for you in the new year and I'm thinking of all of you! Patty, I can't wait to hear about the birth of your granddaughter! Corinna, glad to hear things are flowing more smoothly at work!! Monica, glad you and the kids had a wonderful holiday. I'm sorry the whole family couldn't be together. Okay my fabulous friends......we are booked to see Mickey again in June...my mom, my dad, and the kiddos.....No Mark this time! He just doesn't get as much time off as I do....BUT! He is quite happy about the little vacation he will have from me and the kids! Gee, wonder why?

So, how do I start one of these trip reports? I love reading everyone else's and I just think it will be awesome to document our lives leading to the big trip....I'm still new to this DIS thing and just not sure where to begin Will someone point me in the right direction!?
