Hello all my Disney friends,
I am wonder just how "not-so-scary" this party will be for my 4 yr old??? we go trick or treating and he's fine, but some house do scare him. any creepy music and moving ghouls and ghosts really freak him out. The tickets are not cheap for this event, so before we book it.. I would like to know if anyone else had a semi-scaredy cat that did ok or did they have to leave?? it's our 1st trip and I don't want him to think that ALL DISNEY will be scary after we go to this... disney has to stay the happiest place on earth...I want him to have good memories of our 1st WDW trip.
last year we took a wonderful beach vaca and he fell within the first 2 hrs of our arrival. if you ask him about the trip, he will tell you he fell down and show you where he got hurt..then he will tell you about the waves and the sand, LOL!!!

thank so much..

We've been 3 times (maybe 4, can't remember). It's more slightly spooky than scary. The name (Mickey's Not So Scary) is correct.
Here's a link to another part of the DIS site that will help you with pictures and stuff (look around for the links).

The Boo to You parade is cut and the song is fun. It keeps reminding you that it's "not so scary".
Hallowishes fireworks show is good, but does have some spooky music and features the Disney villians. There is also a Villians stage show that you might want to avoid.
The Parade Photo page has links to a movie of Hallowishes and also the Boo to You parade, so you can see how scary those are.

The Halloween Dance Parties are cute and not scary at all. You can dance with characters who are wearing Halloween costumes.

If he likes Trick or Treating, there are quite a few candy stops - nothing scary in them.
The only places that I would consider spooky were around Haunted Mansion - there are some people standing that you at first think are statues and then you see them move. They are kind of ghosty, but they are also sort of only in one area, around Haunted Mansion and the Riverboat. You can miss them pretty easily.
The area down Main Street also gets some slightly spooky music and purple and orange lights with some white light 'ghosts'.

The whole party is mostly on the order of the parade video, more fun than scary.

I thought the park was exceptionally DARK. Flashlights helped us.
But there was nothing creepy that would scare a 4 year old too much. During HalloWishes there is some loud ghoulish amplification that might startle a youngster. Check out You Tube and preview it. That might help.

So I booked the halloween party, YAY!! We were more concerned about 4yr old then our 3yr old with sensory issues!!! we took them to a local fair and they loved the rides, especially 3yr old being whipped around..great input!!! we decided we are going to let the boys pick out costumes after dinner with Tigger and Pooh!!! then we will go to the party can't wait... the links you gave me were exactly what I needed to see.. thanks again!!
