Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

I've read on a couple of comments that Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will not go on this year due to the 60th Anniversary celebration. Can anyone confirm or deny this. This was the first year I was going to be able to go to the Halloween Party and want to know what's going on. Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance for any info!

None of the rumors that I have heard so far have said that Mickey's Halloween Party will not happen this year. There is speculation that it might move to DCA. Tickets went on sale in July last year, so that's my guess of when we might next be given some concrete/official information.

Just an aside, but Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) happens at the Magic Kingdom in WDW. The DLR Halloween party is called Mickey's Halloween Party.

I highly doubt they would cancel the parties because of the diamond anniversary. I'm sure it is an easy way for disney to make a ton of money. Figment is right, there is speculation that it will move to DCA, but at this point it is anyones best guess.

If they transplanted the Party to DCA, I can't see it having the same appeal. I honestly don't think that would work very well.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the party used to be at DCA before they reimagined that park. Seems like when we were there in 2008 or so it was there.

scrapshappen is correct; Mickey's Halloween Party (previous known as Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party) used to occur in Disney's California Adventure. It moved to DL in 2010. Allears.net has a bit of information on the last Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party. It largely sounds similar to MHP (trick-or-treating, characters, the Calvalcade, etc.), but there is no mention of any "big" nighttime entertainment (pre-dates WoC). If the parties move to DCA this year, I do think they'll need to do something to replace Halloween Screams because that's been a big selling point of MHP in the last few years. The current guess/rumor is a Halloween-themed WoC.

I seem to remember going to a costume halloween party in Disneyland before DCA even opened. This would've been in the early or mid-90's. So I know there was at least one party that was in Disneyland before it moved over to DCA. I don't remember if we paid a seperate free or if the park did anything besides general halloween decor. But I distinctly remember them allowing costumes.

Did you ever work for DLR or know someone that did? They used to have an after-hours event for CMs and their families/friends called Little Monsters on Main Street.

They also had an event called Mickey's Halloween Treat in 1995 and 1996 (according to Wikipedia).
