Mickeys not so scary halloween party

I can't seem to find a FAQ thread for MNSSHP, so my apologies for asking this here (seemingly the wring thread). I've never been to a MNSSHP and we are planning to go next year. I know we may enter at 4 PM (at least it's possible to do so in 2014) but when does the party actually start? Would it be feasible to have dinner at 'Ohana then head to the party? Could we wear our costumes to a restaurant outside of the party to save travel time? How hard are is it to get an ADR during the party? Thanks in advance for the help, even if it's just directing me to the proper thread!

The party starts at 7pm. It would be easy to go to dinner at Ohana then jump on the MK monorail. I would plan dinner around 4-5PM, the lines do tend to get crowded as the non-party goers are being asked to leave the Magic Kingdom while you're trying to enter the park.

You should be able to make your ADRs all ready so I would go on and try to book ASAP for ohana as it is pretty popular as most MK dining options are busy on nights of MNSSHP.

As far as costumes I'm not entirely sure If you have kids they are able to dress up but if you're going as a disney character (princess, tinkerbell) it may be another story. If you don't get an answer here I would contact O'hana directly.

? if I am at MK all day, do I have to exit the park and then reenter the park with my ticket to the not so scary halloween party?

There are typically two in-park wristband/bag pickup locations. One is across from PotC and the other is in Tomorrowland, near Stitch.

Should we buy our tickets in advance? Our plan is to go Tuesday September 23rd but if weather isn't great that night I like the option of going Friday September 26th. Do tickets sell out? Do we just buy them now and take our chances with the weather?

Thanks

Eva

September 27th sold out one day in advance last year. You are probably safe to wait until a few days before, but there is always a slight risk in waiting.

Our girls are wearing their costumes on Halloween to Saana at 2pm, then we go straight to the party from there. I don't think anyone will think its weird and oh we'll if they do!

It won't seem strange, don't worry. On Halloween day I've seen kids and adults alike dressed up during the day at parks other than MK, and at the resorts as well. They'll be fine. Have fun!

I know this is not guaranteed, or the norm, but in 2012 our MNSSHP was rained out. There was a bunch of us in Guest Relations asking if they would be willing to give us tickets to the next party night instead. The CMs were very accommodating. I did have to pay a little extra though b/c ticket prices for the replacement party were a bit more. We are going 9/1 this year, and are leaving the next day, so I am hoping for good weather. Just something to keep in mind but like I said...not ever guaranteed. Worth a try though if your party is rained out and you have the flexibility to go another night. princess:

We're in the same boat; going 9/1 and leaving the next day. Here's to hoping that the party doesn't get rained out!

We were sup to leave 8/31 but extended when the party dates were announced. Schools up here start on Thurs, and we drive, so we have to be home by Wed. Since it rained at our last MNSSHP I think it has to be nice weather for this one :thumbsup2
