For the past 2 years, I have wanted to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, but DH is not really interested. I wouldn't be taking any children, but enjoy seeing the different costumes. I wouldn't be trick or treating, but would like to see the Parade and Fireworks.
For those of you who have gone to this event, am I "really" missing something special? I am seriously considering letting DH spent quality time with his DM, who we are bringing and just go myself.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

I would go by myself is it was an option.

I would also do the trick -or- treating just to do it it was fun when we went last year.

The headless horseman coming through the circle making the turn up mainstreet was just crasy .He almost took out the Cm and had the crowd running for cover.

He later came back at the end of the parade and was telling the CM she was obscured from his line of sight and what he needed. It was all smiles as he explained but you could tell he was in real trouble during it.

Fireworks great and the characters everywhere I hate to admit I was tired of seeing everything through a 3 in screen so I didn't take my Video cam as it was just a small 3 day trip.No matter we will be going again .Doing MVMCP this year but still trying to get a few days for MNSSHP if DD has any days off for a long weekend.

I didn't think it was worth the admission. I was rather disappointed. Headless horseman lasts 3 seconds. Parade was cute, but I'm not a parade person. Decorations were cute. Lots of little kids. Our kids were pretty tired by 9:00 (or earlier) making it difficult to take advantage of the shorter lines.

However, if you like Halloween and don't have kids that are going to make it be $15 an hour per person, it could be fun. The lines for the Mountains were non-existant and WDW at night was interesting.

I went last year - by myself even. Had a blast. If you are into Halloween, I'd say go. Unlike MVMCP, the *only* way to see the Halloween stuff is at the party. And I know you said you wouldn't, but this is probably the only socially acceptable place for an adult to go trick-or-treating. I loved it.

Our family has gone the last two years and I'm working on a visit for the third! We think it is a lot of fun and would recommend it. Last year we were able to enter the park with our MNSSHP ticket just after 3pm. Plus, it's nice that DVC owners can get a discount on tickets as well.

We went last year and the parade and fireworks were outstanding. Probably won't go this year, but maybe next year. If you've never been, definitely go!

Assume that all the major characters will be in the parade, particularly the villains, and look for a way to catch their attention and interact with them. Our party of 6 dressed as 5 dalmations (spotted T-shirts and dog-ear hats) plus my wife as Cruella deVille. The parade Cruella saw us, broke ranks, rushed over to us calling out "Sister! Sister!" and embraced my wife with huge air kisses. After that lots of characters interacted with us as they passed, and the parade was much fun.

We love MNSSHP and attend every year until moving from the east coast. We did not a our child and we love being able to bring out the inner child :) by trick or treating in Magic Kingdom  For our family, this is a family tradition that once we move back to the east coast - back to the yearly tradition of Oct and Dec in Disney.

When will you be going? You are welcome to join us if it's Oct. 30. We have a large group but the more the merrier. Three of us ladies have dressed as the fairies from Sleeping Beauty for the last 6 years. Others in our group haven't decided but two friends may be Alice & the Mad Hatter. He'll be Alice and she'll be the Mad Hatter.

It is fun especially if you dress up.

We went the last 2 years and loved it.

For those of you who dressed up for the Party, did you wear your costume into the park during the day, or did you wear regular clothing, and then change into your costume when the other guests left the park? :confused3 Did you feel like a major dork dressing up, or are lots of adults in costume?

we always go to the halloween party. this year we can not go but we already purchased our tickets. we got them at 10% off due to being DVC members. I think I will put them on EBAY to get rid of them, do you think anyone would buy them there???? I would want close to what I spent since it is already discounted.

Cruelladeville - Good question. I wondered about the costume changing, too. We have addys at Cindy's at 5:15 and we don't want to wear our costumes for that. So where's a good place to change into our costumes?
