Are the kids going to get treats on the MNSSHP? My kids are wearing costumes and I was wondering if this is the norm. We are going to the party on Oct 26 and not actually on halloween night. What kind of treats do they give out?? Does anyone know. Has anyone been before and what was it like.
We were there 2 years ago and we had a great time. I can't remember if they supply bags there or not but they do give out candy at various places in the park. There is a write up about it on the wdwig.com site - I'll go see if I can find it and post the link for you.
The parade has all the characters dressed in Hallowe'en costumes and features the villians of Disney. When we were there last time the people we travelled with had dressed as dalmatians and when Cruella went by in the parade she came over and yelled to her henchmen to put the dogs in the wagon! It was lots of fun.
They also have a few picture places set up in the park. The one we went to was around It's A Small World. They had a spooky backdrop and you posed as a family. They then sent you this picture free to your home address and you could order additional pictures for an extra cost. We used that picture along with one taken in Downtown Disney by the Christmas shop in our Christmas cards that year. My husband was dressed as Ursula from the Little Mermaid so it was a hoot!
Near the end of the evening they had a disc jockey playing great music in Tomorrowland and we all danced. We had such a great time that we made sure to plan our holiday this year around Hallowe'en.
If you are still at the park on Oct. 31 - I understand that they also do some fun stuff at the Boardwalk but I'm not sure what - I think the kids can trick or treat there and carve pumpkins or something. I read that Hallowe'en festivities were being cancelled at Pleasure Island though so maybe they won't be doing the Boardwalk stuff either.
I'll go have a look on wdwig.com now and come back with the web address if I can find it! Have fun at Disney!
Thanks, for your reply. Only 2 more sleeps for us. My DD is going as Tinkerbell. My DS is going as a Special Forces comando. The parents havent decided to wear anything as of post time. HMMMM what could I go as?? Have a great trip!!
