Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party

Despite many trips already, we have reservations to spend Halloween at WDW for the first time this October. We are staying at the AKL. What is the best time to purchase tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? Also, if anyone has any idea when they can be purchased would be most helpful & appreciated.
Accompanying my wife & I will be our Daughter, her husband and their 2 kids. Daughter & hubby will be celebrating their anniversary at WDW this trip, so I am hoping all goes great!

We went last year with our four kids(see pic below) it was awesome. i purchased my not so scary halloween tickets on June 6. I check weekely to make sure I didn't miss them going on sale because I wanted Oct 31 rather than another night.

After going once I would take the tickets on a different night (there were two other nights prior to Halloween that they had this celebration). The reason being that our hotel had a great Halloween party and trick or treating on the actual evening of Halloween. I think the kids would have loved to get dressed up twice and go trick or treating twice. Any how something to think about.

The parade was awesome. The trick or treating was acceptable to the kids(if you stay late enough they just pile the candy on). About 90% of the kids dressed and about 25% of adults(we were part of this percentage. All in all I do it again..

WOW!!! Am i glad I posted!...THANK YOU!! We never even thought about taking the grandkids trick or treating at the resort. They are 7 & 4, so I am positive they would love to dress up twice...lol...maybe us older kids would too...THANKS AGAIN!!......Brer_Papa

i can start calling weekly until the tickets go on sale...get a different night and trick or treat 2 nights. I told Grandkids this and got HUGE smiles.

I was there last Halloween as a matter of fact we saw Zurg and family in line at MK Thanks for the great card Zurg....my little Buzz loved your costume. Overall I thought the party was o.k. it was very crowded on main street everyone was just standing around and blocking the road once they got in the park. It took us about 1/2 hour to get up Main Street with all the crowds....funny thing is no one was in the ride lines. Overall it was nice but not that great. Maybe the crowds where so much due to being the 31st but I would not pay the extra money to do it again....Our son was 3 so maybe he was too little to really enjoy it............
