We are taking our son to WDW in September, when he'll be just about 23 months old. It'll be me (29), my husband (30), my mom and our son. I've heard such great things about this party, but I'm wondering if it would really be worth shelling out the extra $150 for the four of us to enjoy it. For anyone that's been to it before, does it mostly cater to older kids, or would we enjoy it? My son is pretty good about staying up later hours if provided with a good nap, so I don't see the late hours as too much of a problem.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I don't know. Very cute. lots of extras but at his age not sure. My youngest fell asleep after we had been there a half hour. My older kids enjoyed it a lot but I would have prob skipped it if we had just had the youngest. I would prob save the money and go to a different park that evening. Also have to think if it would scare him. While not scary there are alot of villains out that night and our youngest would have freaked out had he been awake. ;)

My DD4 was 16 months when we went, it was fun, she got all dressed up. I was surprised by how well she did as we went the night we arrived. I expected her to be tired, but since she slept on the plane and in the car, I guess she had some extra zip in her. We went on quite a few rides, she fell asleep in my lap on two but we kept going. She wasn't much of a sleeper anyway, so she was pretty wide-eyed until at least 10:30 or 11. She was a bit drowsy our last hour there, but she did make until we were on the bus.

I really think it's geared towards all ages, everyone had a good time. There's lots of candy and short ride lines for the older kids, and lots of characers in their halloween costumes for the younger kids. My DD really wasn't scared, she more just looked up at everything in amazement. I can imagine a 2yo being more frightened though, even my then 11yo kept waking up with nightmares :confused3 (yes, that confuses me too, I guess she kept dreaming something about bats). The only thing that I found that could be considered scary was the parade, a few of the villains imparticular. If your worried about it, just skip the parade, the bonus of that also is that lines are shorter. Most of the party is just cute, Main Street is much more festive than spooky.

I reccomend going, it is a lot of fun, I think he'd enjoy getting dressed up and seeing the characters.

We are taking our DS in Sept. He will be 21 months when we go. We've never been, but DH and I really want to go.

Been taking DD since she was one and always enjoyed it since I dress up too. It's our trick or treating instead of doing it around the neighborhood. Would just suggest a late afternoon nap so no major meltdowns.

Will this be your only trip to Disney, or your only trip for quite a while? If so, then I would say go - because you, your DH and mom will enjoy it. But if you plan on going to Disney again in the next few years, I would skip it this year and wouldn't spend the money.

It is fun, but your ds will enjoy the park just as much during the day. One of the advantages of going to MNSSHP is that there are a limited number of tickets, so you can get on the rides quicker and there are small crowds. But since you are going in September, crowds should not be a problem during the day. JMHO
