Mickey's Moms club "big red box"

Being a new DVC'er, I found a site through one of the DIS poster's signatures and ended up joining the Mickey's Mom Club last year (part of Disney's site that also showcases the mom panel)....well, I few weeks back I got an email from the Mickey Mom Club to enter a contest-
Enter to win a Big Red Celebration box to host a "what will you celebrate" themed party in your home and report back your celebration...Supposedly it comes with ideas, supplies, recipes, goodies, etc...but only about 1,000 celebration hosts would be selected...

I entered and told the story of a little girl we are trying to obtain custody of to get her out of foster care and that we are a new DVC family. The entry asked about your family, your Disney experiences, and how you interact with other parents- both in person and through social media...I am a cheer, soccer, football mom that works with my church youth group and I DIS frequently was my response.

Well last night I got an email that I have been selected and would receive my big red box by 4/16!!! They want to event to take place by 5/16 and then you report your celebration....I am excited to see what the "Big Red Box" may be! And it is just one more reason I am glad to be a DVC member and a DIS'er! I would have never had this experience if not for DVC and DIS!

Clever marketing plan, isn't? use us- excited about everything Disney- to expose our friends and neighbors in a home setting, give them a little taste of Disney to convert them too

I was lucky to be get a Big Red Box last year and had a blast having a party for my friends. Plus it let me talk about WDW without my friends looking at me like I had two heads.

Here are a couple of pictures of some of the goodies and how I had our kitchen island set up.

I had a blast making the candy pretzel rods and homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Unfortunately I didn't get in on the first 1000 this year so no party for me.

I know, I can't wait for the BIG RED BOX to arrive! What celebration theme will you use? I was waiting to see what comes in the box before deciding....

The only theme I had was Disney! I had the Planning DVD playing during the party, we played the WDW bingo and trivia (both included in the box), printed out a list of websites that I have always found helpful, I answered questions about WDW, we all talked about various attractions & things that were being shown on the DVD, extras you could add to your meals or have delivered to your rooms, making ADRS, ate some treats, etc. Then as guests left I gave them their goodies that included the canvas bags with goodies, WDW fortune cookies, the MMC print, and the list of websites.

After seeing the host/hostess gift this year I really wish I could have met the deadline. Completely hold my supervisor responsible since he just had to have a staff meeting as I was filling in my answers.
