We're going to DL Oct. 1-4th and I'm debating whether or not to go to Mickey's Halloween Treat(i think that's what its called). Is it worth the extra $29 dollars to go? Will the characters only be in their costumes at this event? I know they hand out candy but will it be too crowded to even bother? What is your guys experience with this event? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for your opinions!

I think it is worth it. We did it last year, and are doing it again this year. Rides, although not all, are open with a lower than normal wait time. Several characters out, some that I have never seen (many, many villians). We saw lots last year, Hook, Evil Queen, Old Hag, Lady Tremaine and the step-sisters, Cruella, evil guy from Meet the Robinsons, Jafar, and more! Small parade, which I honestly think is a waste.

Currently, tickets are only available for APers and Disney Visa cardholders. Are you either of those? Otherwise, tickets not on sale until August 1. If you are not a Disney Visa cardholder, and are interested, I would be happy to refer you.

HTH!
PM me if anymore questions!!

I don't have an AP or Disney Visa so I'll just have to wait until August 1st. That's pretty cool that you get to see the villians, my nephew who is coming with us, loves the villians. Might have to check it out.

WE went two years ago and it really was not that busy. I believe we went on a Sunday night. The longest we waited was to see Mickey and Minnie. It was fun. We skipped out last year but will be going again this year

I went last year to the Oct.4 one and it was GREAT!!! there was no line at all on the rides and very little wait to see the charecters!!! I think since its the start of the season thats why its not to busy! We got TONS TONS and TONS of candy.... it was great well worth the money!!! I bought my tickets mid- august and there was no problem with out dates!!!! It was great if i go back to DL around the same time in 09 i will be going again for sure!!!

Oh I'm so glad you posted this. We just got our MTOT tickets (I'm a Disney visa holder) and we are very excited. We will be going on 10/29 and can't wait! We are already thinking of costume ideas.

MALEFICENT i have heard she was there last year and my ds and dh are huge fans of her's she is who we pray we seee villions oh yes this is the perfect thing for us. we think it will be worth it even if she issnt there lol

I love it!!... I already bought my tickets and I cant wait...they give you a TON of candy and its not little crappy stuff either...they give the good stuff:thumbsup2 I didnt do many rides but they had 2 places where djs were going and alot of the characters were there dancing with the kids...it was alot of fun...cant wait to go back:banana:

Question - what do you do with your trick or treat bags while you ride the rides??

question do they give you trick or treat bags or do we need to brang our own?

We went Oct. 29th of last year, they gave me, DD and DH trick or treat bags. The candy is good, they had a bunch of the treat stands up and they also offer healthy alternatives like raisins in case you don't want more candy. My DD4 loved the music the most. She would randomly stop and start dancing. All in all, it was an awesome experience and I can't wait to do it again this year.

You know for the life of me I honestly can't remember. I think there might have been, I'm sure there was but I just can't remember right now. I have a video of her dancing, I'll have to watch it to see what was playing.

Thanks for all the replies. I think this is something we're going to do. Since I don't have a AP or Disney Visa, how quickly do these things sell out? I'm looking to go on Oct. 3rd.

Well, Friday nights sell out most quickly I believe--so I would hop on it as soon as you get the opportunity to purchase. Although this is early enough in the month that I don't think it will be an issue. And if you go on October 3rd I'll look for you and your family because I'm going to be there too! (my first time)

That is true, weekend events sell out faster than the weekday events. Last year when I ordered our tickets (for a Thursday i think), ALL of the weekend events were sold out. I also got our tickets later than I did this year though, I think maybe early September :confused3

Thanks for that tip. I will be waiting anxiously online on August 1st to make sure I get that day. I can't wait :cool1:

Okay, as long as we're on the Mickey's trick-or-treating topic:

1.) Which rides do you get to go on with one of these tickets-- just the ones in CA Adventure, or...?

2.) What else do you really get for the price? DJs and "rare"-character interaction sound good, but c'mon: $100 for a family of 4? What are the real perks?

3) What ages of kids does this event work best for? Why?

4.) What have been your bad experineces or biggest criticisms of how it's gone before? Be honest-- no gripe is too small! ;-)
