This was the first time that dd (5) and I have been to this event at the DLR. We have been to the "other resort's" (meaining WDW) Halloween party in the past but since we are now DLR AP holders we wanted to test out our home park.

Well I thought it was fantastic. DD really enjoyed the deocrations. SHe loved the lighted/dancing bats/spiders ect on the walkways. She also got a kick out of the projected spiderwebs everywhere. I thought the music playing aound the park as great. It sure kept dd dancing.

We arrived a little before six got in line and were let in a little after six. They had a band right there after you go under the golden gate bridge. Once they let us past this point dd and I headed over to the Monsters Inc ride and got on immediately. THis one dd's one must do. After that we got some candy and then went to check out the villians area. We saw Cruella and the Evil Queen. They were fantasic with my dd. I had made an autograph book for her and had a page for each of them. They were trhilled to see themselves. When it was time for the picture the queen asked my dd to make a mean face like she does for the picture and so my dd did. I have the greatest picture of her as a villian in training.

Next we headed over to bugs land where dd got her face painted and did a craft and danced with Flik and Atta. Then we got more candy.

Then we were off to the Pier. Well we saw Aladdin and Jasmine and then stood in a very long line for Cinderella and Snow White. We got more candy and then found Timon and Rafiki! Then we took one of the candy trails which dd loved. At the end we saw the line for Minnie and Mickey so hopped in. This line was long but not as ling as the one for the princesses. After we got our pictures we went to the other candy trail where my dd was given so much candy she could barely hold her bag. Then we ran into Koda and Keni.

We wanted to see if there were any new villians about so we headed back over there and ran into -- yep more candy stations. We also saw JoJo. At the villians area we saw the queen and cruella again so we did not get in line but when they saw us waving they came over and called dd by name and asked how the other characters were liking her book. I thought this was nice - it sure made dd happy that they remembered her name.

We took one last stop at a candt station and then saw Sully. Who ofcourse we followed and DD was able to dance with him for a few minutes.

All in all we had a fabulous time. We left at about 10. In a very unlike dd like fashion my dd said she was ready to go so we left.

I really enjoyed the party and it was fun to see adults as well as kids dressed up. I was very pleased with the amout of character interactions they had. Not all were the photo and autograph type dd was able to "play" with many of them.

:thumbsup2

I also attended the Halloween Treat on 10/26 and LOVED it! I went with my BF (we are both in our 20s) and we both got totally dressed up! He was Merline and I was Jadis, The White Witch from Narnia. I really enjoyed just walking around and soaking up the atmosphere. We took lots of pictures (my costume was 1/2 made by my bfs mother, so we wanted to take a lot of pictures to send her). I felt that the lines were all pretty managable, except for the Princess and Minnie/Mickey pictures. All in all it was an awesome time and I can't wait to go next year!

Did you get to see the Ghost mickeys? I thought they were pretty cool... then they were installing it, they CMs were playing with it and making it bounce up and down... looks so real :P

anyone going today? I get to work at Mickey's Haloween Treat today... i love it! :)

Not tonight.. We have tickets for the 31st, though, and can't wait. :-)
