Mickey's Halloween Party - Worth it?

This is my 1st trip to WDW when we will be there during MNSSHP. I was wondering if you think its worth the extra $100?

I thought I might go over with my 6 yr old (just the girls) since Im not sure if my 2 yr old will like it or not. Any advise or suggestions about this would be great. I've been reading through the posts, too, but current opions are nice too.

I was planning on doing advanced purchase to save a little $$.

Oh, and what day of the week is the LEAST crowded. I was thinking Oct 2nd would be a good bet. What do you think?

I can't tell you what week would be the LEAST crowded but I can share my opinion.
I went last year to MNSSHP, and I LOVED IT. It's so much fun. The park is less crowded and you can get on a lot of attractions with no wait, and ride them over and over again. Plus you can dress up if you'd like which is always fun, and collect candy! The atmosphere is amazing, the lighting, spooky sounds and special events are awesome. The special wishes is great and a witch flys instead of tinkerbell. The parade is NOT to be missed it's so cute and funny. The liberty belle boat does ghost/scary stories.
For me it's something you should do, because you're down there for one, and it's just such an awesome event!
Your girls would love it too!

There is no way I would be on WDW in October and not do MNSSHP.

It was awesome, we were in the area and did just that with my 1 year at the time and she loved it. We dressed he up as Minnie mouse and it was priceless.

Didn't do allot of park hopping otherwise that trip becuase DD was so young. Although she didn't eat candy then, collecting it for her weas a hoot.

I can't wait until DD is older so she can really enjoy it.

Your 2 year old should be free.

If you can go and if you go dress up.

We went last year for the first time.
Both the 6 and 10 year old loved it.
They loved it so much we are doing it again during our upcoming trip.
They has so much candy we had to pack an extra bag to bring it home.

The only thing that I would add, is to plan some slow time into your day before the party. If you have already been touring the parks that week, by the time the MNSSHP rolls around, everyone in your party may be tired in the evenings.

Next time, we will have a pool day and probably lunch at the resort.

We go every October and always go to the halloween party! We wouldnt miss it! We have done it at every age between 6 months and 5 years. None of the kids have ever been scared! It is cute, the 2 year old will love it! Definately see the parade.
I dont know about what weeks will be most crowded, what I do know is that weekends tend to be popular with the locals that live around disney. We try to hit early to middle of the week.

We went last year for MNSSHP and we'll be back this year for it again!
DD just turned 3 when we went last year and she loved it! of course she was scared at first but soon got over it. Buy your costumes early remember it's florida so dress for warm weather! We wanted Mikayla to be Jo JO but the costume was so hot she couldnt wear it! She was TINK.
This year we're gonna get alot of autographs and candy. I'm prepared and informed now.

Go for it. It is SOOO worth it!! The parade is fantastic. You see characters that don't come out very often. For example, last year, at Toontown, they had the princesses there WITH their princes! The fireworks show is the best I have ever seen! Took my DS last year who was then 2.5. He did fall asleep in the stroller, but he loved what he saw!!! We enjoyed it immensely!!!

We went last year. DS was 7 and DD just turned 2 the day before.

We went to Epcot and then took DD back for a nap. We arrived at MK about 6:30pm. We also went in 2002 when DS was 4 and did LTT but last year we opted for CS at Caseys.

I didn't expect much from DD. She was thrilled. Loved every minute and cried at midnight when we left. Never even tried to catch a snooze. She was Minnie Mouse and DS was a Power Ranger. DH and I wore Halloween T-shirts.

When the parade started , she was taken back a little with the villians but quickly recovered. I think your kids will love it.

Of course we're going again this year. DS will be Darth Vadar, DD Cinderella. We're doing LTT this year because I was able to get an early ADR.

We think its worth the money.

Yes Yes Yes, it's worth it

The crowds are light since it's limited admission which means there arent long waits for the rides.
Your daughter will love the bag full of candy you go home with at the end of the night
The Boo To You Parade and HalloWishes very quickly became 2 of my favorite Disney shows
And it's awesome to walk into the Magic Kingdom looking sooo different than you've ever seen it...they play the haunted Mansion soundtrack upon arrival...there's fog and smoke everywhere (aka:dry ice machines), and the characters are dressed up in their Halloween costumes and are EVERYWHERE to take pictures with you!
It's alot of fun and totlally worth it...But it shouldn't be $100 for 2 people, especially since one of you is only 6 yrs old. An adult ticket is $38.99 and a child should be a tad cheaper!

went for the first time last year. and it will not be too crowded no matter when you go. had a great time. got to go on all the rides easy. and the effects, the parade, the hollowishes, were all cool. we are a family of four and we will go again if we ever go that time of year.

MNSSHP is worth it! We went last year for the first time and it was great!

One of the best things, and I don't think anyone's mentioned it, was the free family photo. It's great because we are all in our costumes. I smile everytime I look at it! Other favorite things were short lines for attractions, the parade, "trick-or-treating", fireworks, spotting rare characters and watching all the adorable children!

October 2nd should be less crowded I would think. Staying away from weekends and dates close to actual Halloween would be good.

My daughter was 2 and 1/2 last trip and will be a little over 3 this trip, but she was terrified of the characters, especially Mickey and Pluto, for some strange reason. We only have photos of her with the princesses.

She also got scared during parades when the characters came near her but loved seeing them on their floats. I was wondering what you all think. Is there anything that I should know about that would be really scary. It sounds like a lot of fun and I know my 6 yr old would love it, but I am a bit concerned about spending the money and having to make a quick exit if she freaks out.

Some of you mentioned the scary music. Are there any really scary costumes?
