So unfortunately we missed buying tickets before they sold out. I need three tickets for any night for me and my two daughters. They were so excited to go and I didn't realize they'd sell out so fast. Now I am looking at tickets either on Craigslist or Ebay. Does anyone else have another reliable place to look for tickets? Also I'm not sure which is the safest? Has anyone bought tickets off ebay and been ok? I thought if the Craigslist tickets were hard tickets they should be fine as well. If anyone has any experience good or bad with buying tickets not through Disney I'd love to hear it so I can make a wise decision. Also if anyone has another source I can look at I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Just to make sure, but DLR's Halloween party is called Mickey's Halloween Party (MHP), while the one at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World is called Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). Craiglist, eBay, etc. are all risky because you don't know if the seller is selling you valid tickets or not (even if they have hard tickets).

The ticket booths may have a very limited supply of tickets available on the day of the event. These will (if available) be sold on a first come/first serve basis and it's not gauranteed that they'll have any on your date. You can also try calling Disneyland Ticketing (714-781-4565) and see if they have any available (they often have them for a little bit of time after they sell out online). Lastly, if you're staying on-site (GCH, DLH, or PPH), the hotels may have a very limited supply of tickets available on the day of the event for their guests.

Oh all good tips! Thank you so much!

I wouldn't buy or trust any tickets from Craigslist even if they're hard tickets. I was behind a family of 4 who were turned away from the main gate at DL because they had fake tickets they bought from craigslist. They were the hard tickets with the barcode and looked real to me but scanned as fake. I felt bad for the 2 kids with the sad look on their face as they turned around to walk away. I could also hear the lady yelling at her husband that he shouldn't have bought those to save $20 because they're now out hundreds of dollars. In other words, buyer beware...there are fake hard tickets out there.

Yes, you are confirming my gut feeling of not worth the risk. Thank you!

So sad :sad2:

I think we may just book a room for one of the nights and if we get tickets through the hotel on a extreme stroke of luck great, if not that is a fabulous fix to our sadness and we can still have a lot of fun enjoying the park and Halloween fun! Thanks so much to figment_jii for suggesting that! :)

So I just called and the ticket agent said they aren't doing tickets at the booths or the hotels this year. However he also said there are no more annual pass holder rates and that all discounts are rates that anyone can get. I'm confused because I'm online and I can clearly see an annual pass holder rate that says annual pass holder rate and the terms are to show your annual pass. Is this a case of the agent not knowing what he's talking about or is it false advertising by Disney? I tend to think this agent wasn't informed enough. He was also very rude and short and way too sure of himself.

I've noticed that the website is sometimes strange when it comes to AP rates. I was looking up some dates recently and it showed AP rates, then when I clicked on it, a totally different amount (much higher) shows up! Not sure what's up with that???

The AP holder rate is only valid on pre-purchased party tickets for select nights. So if you were able to purchase tickets on the day of the event, they would be at the full price regardless of whether you have an AP, DVC, or Disney Visa. At this point, the only parties that had pre-purchase AP discounts were the 10/12, 10/14, 10/19, and 10/25 parties (the remaining were the same price regardless of when you purchased the tickets or if you had an AP/DVC/Disney Visa).

Oh wait, were you talking about the party tickets or hotel rates??? LOL Maybe I am confused!

Hotel rates. It looks like the Halloween party is a no go for us. I'm trying to still create an experience that would be a Halloween celebration in place of the party so I was going to get a room at the Disneyland Hotel and do that instead.

When I called to book our room, we were told that they're no longer offering the 10% discount on rooms for AP holders. You can still get a discount rate if they're running a promo and they are rooms left but that's available to anyone, not just AP holders.

I did get halloween party tickets at GCH for the Oct 5th party. They had a line at the front desk when they go on sale at 6am. They sold at least 50 while I was in line, and I was biting my nails hoping I could get some before they sold out!

If you are going to be staying at one of the Disney hotels, I would still check the morning of to see if they are selling MHP tickets to guests in spite of what the ticket agent you spoke with said. Most likely the ticket agent was telling you the official policy which is that the tickets are sold out and no longer available.

Another option that several have posted is if you are going with someone who already has tickets, the ticket booths are more likely to sell you tickets so your party isn't split up.

Last year I waited too long and had to buy tickets thru stubhub.

If you don't mind paying a premium, check StubHub. There is still a chance you won't receive legit tickets, but at least they have a money-back guarantee.

Summary of StubHub guarantee to Buyers:

  • You will get your tickets in time for the event
  • Your tickets will be valid for entry
  • Your tickets will be the same as those you ordered

If any of these things do not occur and you comply with applicable policies and timelines, we will find you comparable or better tickets to the event, or offer you a refund or FanCode for future purchase
and
  • If the event is cancelled and not rescheduled, you will get a refund

Was this the day of the party? Is that how it works that each day is sold on the day of at hotels if they have any at all?

*IF*, and I say if because they are crazy expensive, do you think I have a better chance of getting legitamate tickets from stubhub by getting hard tickets or one's that you can download immediately from the stubhub website? Not sure if I would go for the plunge, but they have two methods to receive your tickets - via UPS (presumedly hard tickets) or via an immediate download (presumedly soft tickets).
