Mickey's Halloween party goers......

:lmao: no but tights are involved with the Macho King Randy Savage costume....I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when I am shopping around the mall for zebra print tights that will fit a 6'4 230 lb guy :goodvibes

Check Torrid (I don't think Big and Tall will have them). If they don't have the tights, he may have to use leggings (more of a cotton-y matterial than spandex-y).

I'm going as a goddess or the red queen. It depends on what fits better and how comforatble it is. DD10 is going as a gypsy and DS3 is either going as a ghostbuster or a pirate. The halloween store opens next week, so everything is subject to change.:upsidedow

My best advice to ANYONE attending the MHP parties is to make sure that whatever you are wearing is comfortable.

I'll second this advice. Last year DH, DD and I went dressed as Disney Road Workers (order shirts, safety vests and mouse ears on our construction hats) and DS was dressed as a traffic cone. We had no idea our little traffic cone would get so much attention :lmao: (including an invitation to ride in the parade, which was amazing)....but the costume did get to be too cumbersome getting through the crowds and we ended up taking it off of him 1/2 way through the night. No worries, we were prepared and he had on his Road Worker outfit under the traffic cone. ;)

My family is going to the Halloween party on October 25th and after reading the rules for costumes I'm wondering if my son's will be ok.
He is 6 and wants to go as Darth Maul. Would he be able to carry a double light-sabre? The costume also has a mask and I'm wondering if I should try to get some makeup instead since the reviews on the costume say it is hard to see out of.

I wasn't going to wear a costume but after reading everyones ideas I might have to get into the spirit and pick something out for myself. YAY

I think the wrestler costumes will be just fine. :) And awesome to see, take pics and share please! :)

I'm not sure if we are doing the HP this year, if we do I will probably be Alice in Wonderland, but we may just go with what we did previously......I was Megara and DBF was Hercules, DD11 was a pirate and DD15 was the bride from the HM. That was a super fun year...even tho no one knew who I was....LOL

We're also going on the 18th but have just decided to wear disney halloween tshirts, boring, I know...I just cant stand the thought of trying to get 4 different costumes into my luggage! If we have time we may go to target and see if we find anything we like...and to the OP, I think you and your DH are taking the same tour we are before the party....SEE YOU THERE! :cool1:

Unless he got his hands on a REAL double light-sabor, I don't think it'll be mistaken for the real thing. However, I don't see a 6 year old carrying much of anything for very long. He may fine for a while, but you may want to dress up as a pack mule for everything he (or anyone else in your family) wants you to carry.;)

I would say try face paint instead of mask, yeah, it might fade but it's better than messing with a mask for 5-8 hours.:thumbsup2

I'm sure you guys will have a blast no matter what you do.:wizard:

Kirstin -

LOL! I figured the light saber would be ok but am so excited for our trip that I thought I would ask a question :upsidedow
As for being the pack mule, believe me, I'm used to it!

Can't wait for October 23rd!

I would second the using face paint for your son instead of the mask. I can image that the mask wouldn't last an hour before it get's annoying enough that it ends up in the backpack. While face paint probably won't last the night, at least his vision won't be obstructed, and it will be one less thing for you and him to fiddle with. He's going to be playing with the light saber for only so long and that will probably end up in the backpack, but not till later in the night (once the TOT bag get's full LOL!). Sounds like a really awesome costume for him though, and he'll love the MHP that you are going to. We are going to the MHP on Sept 30th, and can't wait for the family to experience what I did last year when I went SOLO for 9 days during Halloweentime at DL, and went to 2 MHP parties. We are going as Canucks (or Canuckle heads as us locals call them) fans, with matching Canucks shirts and hats. It's going to be alot of fun, especially since the kids have no clue that we are going.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :rotfl: Not a bad costume idea for a family--everyone could be prospectors with 1 pack mule :lmao: I'd try to make dh be the pack mule, though ;)

I really don't mean to rain on your parade. I think they are really cool costumes, but I would check the dress code for the party before going out and spending money for a costume that Disney, in it's infinite wisdom may not approve of and send you packing so to speak. Just take my advice and check the website for their dress code is before going out and spending money on a costume that Disney may not let you into the party that you spent a good chunk of money to attend. I'm not a prude, but they might be.

This is exactly my question..we are going with 2 sons and spouses and 6 grandkids and I looked for a dress code but couldn't find one..I only found a decription of the party, but no guidelines. Could you let me know where to look?

It's on AllEars....:thumbsup2

Basically as long as you stay away from weapons, eye covering masks and offensive costumes you're good...:goodvibes

We are going to be garden gnomes; at least, that's the plan. All I have to do is get around to making some costumes! The kids got some cute dirndl-type dresses last year in Solvang and dh has a bottle green suede vest so that's how the idea evolved. I *think* I have a peasanty jumper to wear so I just have to figure out hats and bottoms for dh.

I love that idea!!

It's on the disney.com website under both the halloween ticket area of the website, as well if you look into the special section of the special Halloween area of their website. If that makes sense.

LOL Thanks for the idea I am going to check out Torrid today :thumbsup2

Yeah we are kind of waiting for the Halloween stores to open as well, but we need to hit the thrift stores and second hand stores to look for costume supplies on the cheap that we can modify....I don't know where my DW is going to find a late 80's/early 90's hideous prom dress, but the search is going to be part of the fun :goodvibes

Other good places are the Salvation Army, and hospital thrift stores in your area. They are cheaper than Value Village and you can find a good selection of used clothes there. Part of the fun is the hunt, so good luck hunting!

I have a feeling your wife will find what she wants at the thrift store.....good luck!
