So my husband and I are traveling to WDW during October and have tickets to the Halloween Party. Is this more of a kid thing or do adults enjoy it too? What about trick or treating? Is that just for kids? But we can wear costumes, right? The only time adults can dress up as characters at Disney, LOL. I'm really looking forward to it and I'd love to hear some experiences of folks going without kids. Thanks :-)

The party is definitely for all ages!! I went solo a few years ago, and am going back this October. I dressed up, and I saw plenty of adults in full costume without children...some where pretty amazing! Personally, I think it's the best event that Disney does. Do not miss the parade and Hallowishes fireworks. I did a little trick or treating, too. I promise, nobody will look at you twice! Unless you have a cool costume; then you might be asked to be in some strangers' vacation photos ;)

It's totally for adults too! I have only been once and that was with a boyfriend. We had a blast! We didn't dress up but I wish we had! So many do. We loved the trick or treating...hello free candy!...and loved the parade and fireworks. The parade especially is awesome. There are lots of treats and such that are just for the party. Fun event merchandise. We loved the unique photo ops they have and it will be the best people watching you ever do. Hahaha. It will forever be a must do for me now if I go in the fall!

I'm 47, and my friend is 67 (I think) and we went for the first time last year. Definitely not just for kids. I dressed up a bit, had my Minnie ears and a red and white polka dot dress. My friend didn't dress up. You see all ranges, from people who go all out with amazing costumes, people that DisneyBound, and or wear themed shirts, and people that don't dress up at all, nothing looks out of place. We didn't trick or treat at all, because I don't really eat candy, so I cannot comment about that. I wanted to focus on rides and the parade, as well as Hallowishes. I only did one meet and greet, with Capt Jack Sparrow. I thought MNSSHP was really awesome. We had a great time. Loved the parade and Hallowishes. We went on a sold out night, 10/28, I believe, and I didn't think it was too busy, with the things that we did. Others that participated in meet and greets and shows, may feel differently, IDK. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I just loved it. Make sure you check out the Haunted Mansion at night. See the CM all dressed up and Carlotta out there, and get a photo outside the HM. :D
Hope you have a great time!

My husband and I went in 2012/2013. The first time we went, we were a little disappointed if I'm honest. We'd read so much about how quiet it is, no crowds/lines etc. Well maybe in earlier years but now it's very busy!! We weren't very happy at all but I think this was due to expectations bought on by what we had been told. Big queues for the treak or treats and same for the rides and characters ops. Bearing in mind this was a Tuesday night in late September - not a popular one. That said, the fireworks and parade were great.
On this basis, we adjusted out expectations and attended the following year with plans just to trick or treat where there werent many people, accept the queues for characters and skip the rides all together to soak up the ambience and enjoy the shows/fireworks/parades. We also dressed up the second year (after seeing everyone the first year!!) and enjoyed it so much more. My husband got a lot of love for his costumes particuarly which was fun because he HATES fancy dress and I had to really persuade him!!
Deffo go for it but beware if everyone tells you it will be crowd free :-)

DH & I go every year... and we dress up! Absolutely love it. You'll see tons of adults (with kids and no kids) dressed up, trick or treating, and enjoying the spirit of the season!

If you like WDW and you like Halloween, then it will be a great time at any age!

We did our first Halloween in disney last year. It was a father/daughter trip (she was 19 at the time). It's not only for kids, you'll be able to carry around your 100 bags of candy too :). The kids are also really busy with trick or treating that most rides were walk on and most kids were gone a couple hours before the park closed making it really great. Families timed to be at the party early which meant they left really early. You'll never forget trick or treating inside MK at any age. The coolest thing has to be the disney villians. It is halloween and it's characters you normally don't see in the parks or parades.

To save some money, you might want to do some non-park things early. It is a different ticket from your park tickets and you do not need a park ticket in addition so reduce your park tickets by 1 day. We did a lazy morning, lunch and shopping at downtown disney before heading to the party.

nods. I was planning on that day being a non-park day where we hang at our resort and then head into the MK around 4 for an early dinner.

I forgot to mention, you might want to eat first. I think only 1 or 2 quick service locations are opened during the party hours, I'm 90% sure cosmic rays is opened to eat in but didn't go there so not sure if it's just a trick or treat location.

Yes, table service restaurants all close early. There are some quick service open during the party. And there are some desesert items unique to the party. We had a late lunch at the Grand Floridian Café before the party and then we went over to the party for 4pm. Here is the map from last year, I believe.

Is the villain's dessert party worth it? we're thinking about splurging on that if they do it this year.

I just had to look that up, I definitely want to do that when I go in October!

Mickey's Not So Scary is really fun! I went with my family and dressed up as Mama Odie, which was worth it especially when I got pictures with Dr. Facilier.

You should go on Youtube and look up the TimTracker video for Mickey's not so scary party. They are two adults going and having a great time!

We attended the party for the first time in DL last year, and had a blast! There was something so satisfying about being an adult and going trick-or-treating. And the fireworks show was exceptional!

For our trip this year, we're going to Disney World, and my wife has considered dressing up as Frozen Fever Elsa. I know she'd love to make the outfit, but she's afraid of having a rough evening, turning down children who want pictures with her-- can any costume veterans give their viewpoints or advice? Thanks!

Disney staff loves Dr who if you have any clothing from that? It worked really well as last years costume :)

What is the earliest you can enter the Magic Kingdom with just the MNSSHP ticket? We are thinking of hanging out at the pool, and then heading to the park as early as possible.
