Mickey's Halloween Party 2011 Map

Great tips!! Any pics of the candy and bag??

BTW, your costumes are great! Nice work!!

Hi everyone!

So, DBF and I attended Mickey's Halloween Party on Sept 30, and I'm sure everyone is DYING to see the new map and such. My scanner isn't big enough, so I split it in two. Here it is!

Updates on the TR will come in a few minutes, I just wanted to get the map posted ASAP.
Thanks for ALL the great tips that you've posted! There are some really helpful notes in your report! Plus the scan of the map was really handy too! :goodvibes
If you are already going to DL, not just for the party. As in visiting with a Park Hopper or AP.

Don't go to the gates for your bracelet, candy bag or maps don't even show your MHP tickets there. Go to Plaza Gardens Stage, here you can check in with a much shorter wait.
skiingfast, this is a great tip too! Thank you very much, I'll definitely remember this when I'm there for the party this Friday night. :cool1:

Thanks so much for the information. I am new to DL and going to the party next Tuesday, so it helps so much to know what to expect and to get the tips.

Your costumes are great, and you both look so cute!

Just got back from the party. 10/3. This thread has been very helpful.

We started at Tomorrowland. Really long lines for the treat trails. These were the longest that we saw all night. The length of the lines are streaky. Some areas had no lines then, all of a sudden, the lines were really long.

We got some autographs and skipped others because of the length of the line.

Lines to the rides were really short after the first hour of the party. The Friday night parties are probably a lot more crowded. And lots of people left, following the fireworks.

It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the info.

Thank you so much for a great TR! My mom and I are taking my 3 DS in 20 days! I am so looking forward to the party and it's been great reading all your helpful hints. I'm going to read through it again and take notes! :goodvibes
Great work on the costumes, too. They looked marvelous.

Thank you for your trip report!! GREAT COSTUMES!!!! Especially appreciate the map and pamphlet including character greeting info for the party... We'll be there on the 18th and having the details ahead of time is a BIG help.

Scoured the boards for party info last year and KNOW going into it informed made all the difference in our experience. We were able to decide our priorities in advance, knew times and locations in advance, and came up with a loose plan which enabled us to see and do and enjoy everything we wanted--and more! IMO a little bit of planning maximizes your enjoyment of the event while allowing you to maintain a relaxed pace/attitude (esp. important if you happen to be travelling with children).

Just SO EXCITED for this Halloween party... It was fantastic last year!

Thank you so much for your fabulous trip report. We are taking our 2 boys for a surprise Halloween trip. I have not come up with a creative way to let them know we are going to Disneyland, but I hope to get some great reactions out of them when they find out we are going. I took notes on your tips & they will be super helpful. Thanks.

This is an awesome TR. Thank you so much for doing it. I have never been to a MHP before and I am so happy to have some idea of what is going to happen. I loved your dress, you did a great job with it.

Thank you for the candy pics!! We've been to MHP at DCA before and to MNSSHP at WDW (twice each - WDW was both of my girls *first* Halloween experiences as babies), but we weren't able to make it down to Disneyland last year. We have always felt Magic Kingdom/Disneyland was the better venue for this so we've been wanting this since we moved coasts 10+ years ago!

We leave one week from today and are doing the party on 10/11. We've been super excited for awhile now, but seeing the candy got my girls over-the-top ready to go (DD13 & DD10)! They are already planning on hitting some of the trick or treat stations that have their favorite candy (and healthy snacks (they hate raisins & dried apples, but love carrots/apple slices though)- yay for my girls good choices!!) at least twice to stock up. :rotfl:

Skiingfast where is the Plaza Garden Stage? I can't find it on the map. Also what time can you go there to get your bracelet? :goodvibes

It's off the hub to the lower left of the castle. In the OP you can see it along the edge of the map on both halves.

I'm not sure if it's set up and open at say 3 or 4 when party guests can enter in costume. It's meant to help reduce crowding at the gates when the after 5 crowd shows up, by not requiring people already in the park to go back to the entrance too.

We usually go to WDW but managed to fit in a quick night and day at DLR while in CA this month. This will only be our second visit to DLR and first MHP!

Your detailed trip report was very informative -- and you both looked great!

No costumes for us :sad2: but I did get my wife to agree to themed t-shirts.

Can't wait 'til 10/21! :yay:

LOVE IT!! How old are your boys? We have 2 boys also, ages 2 & 4. Neither of them know we're going for a Halloween trip either!

We live in AZ, about a 7 hr. drive from Anaheim. Our plan is to go to bed EARRRRRRLY Sunday, Oct. 16th because we'll be departing around midnite. Thought we'd take the boys straight out of bed and let them ride in their pj's. They'll sleep until 5-6am. When they wake up, they won't know where they are or where we're going--so, after breakfast in the car, I have Halloween cards & gift bags to give them that will have some tiny toys and treats to keep them busy for the remainder of the ride. And will let them know then that we're going to THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!! Can't wait to see their faces, lol!!! :goodvibes

What fun! Your costumes are great! We've yet to visit DLR during Oct *late enough in Sept for Halloween decor - but no party* someday perhaps.
