Mickey's BBQ

I have a 2 and 4 year old. Any feedback on Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

We went when my kids were 2 & 4, and we enjoyed it. DS (4 at the time) loved dancing with the characters & the music. DD (2 at the time) is very shy, and only liked the characters when mommy or daddy was holding her. She enjoyed the music, and we all danced together after dinner, the trick roping show & character parade.

Having said that, I would suggest getting there early. We tried, but got there closer to when the tickets stated dinner started. We were there in Sept, and it was hot standing in the line waiting to get in & be seated. It would have been nice if we had been able to finish dinner (at least most of it) before the characters had come out. Once they showed up, DS just wanted to dance, dance, dance!!

The food was okay - not great, but not bad either. It is your typical picnic/BBQ menu - ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit, corn on the cob, etc - and ice cream treats (popsicles, Mickey ice cream bars, etc) for dessert.

Overall, we enjoyed it & it is on our list (long list) of possibilities for this fall.

To each is their own, but it's not something we'll do and here's why: No assigned seating. It's first come, first served so if you're running behind like PP, it may cost you. Reason #2, it's outside which means it's subject to the weather and weather cancellations. Along with that is the heat aspect if you're in the summer. For these reasons, we don't prefer to do this. We'd rather go to the Hoop Dee Do Revue or other character options instead.

If you are going for the show and have little ones who will enjoy it then go for it. However get there early as possible. Otherwise it is alot of money for a hamburger cooked on a grill.
