What do you think? Is there a big difference? Which do you think is better? Better show?

I've read up on both but can't decide which would be better for a fun bday dinner/event. Anyone?

We go to Hoop Dee Doo every trip. It is great fun! The crowd gets really into the show, and everyone has a blast!

I decided to do Mickey's BBQ, it has the characters and it's self-seating. I figure my DS5 will enjoy it a little more than Hoop Dee Doo. It just seems more "Disney" to me!

So i'm wondering if Hoop De Doo is better for adults and Mickey's BBQ is better for kids? Anyone know whose been to both?

I have done both. MBBQ is way more kid friendly then HDD. MBBQ is self seat, BBQ food, and like party for all the little kids and the characters. The parents kinda stand around take pics and all that other fun stuff. HDD is way better for older kids and adults. I do it every trip. It is my favorite dinner show. It has southern food, fried chicken, potatoes, ect. The entertainment is really funny! There is quite a bit of crowd interaction. HDD is much better for adults and MBBQ for kids. I personally think HDD is a better show regardless of the age factor.

My friends just returned from WDW and she ate at Mickey's BBQ and was really disappointed at her choice! She said it was chaotic and the food was just not good..the ribs were dry and the chicken had some bloody spots that freaked her out..she said it was in NO WAY worth 2 TS. The Hoop Dee Doo is on my agenda this August based on the fact that it it the only dinner show that consistantly receives excellent reviews! Have a great trip!

We've done both. I prefer HDDR. Mickey's BBQ was fine, I wasn't disappointed and I'm glad we tried it. I just don't think we'll go back to it, but we're doing HDDR again in September (our 4th time). The BBQ does allow the little ones to run around and let off some steam, dance, and not need to stay seated for so long. However, I wouldn't recommend it for any child who is the slightest bit shy or reserved. When the characters come out on the dance floor it's basically a free for all and any child who isn't bold enough to step up and grab their share of time dancing is going to be left off to the side because there are so many children who aren't the least bit shy and willing to jump right in. Chaotic would be an accurate description. The band is pretty good. However, I think the HDDR corny show is better entertainment. JMO ;)

We are going in Sept and doing HDDR, my DDF is 7, does anyone think she will enjoy? We did the MBBQ last time and it was fun, thought we would try something else, but now I am wondering if this is right, any input?
