what one did you like better and why? We just add 2 more nights to our package and can't decide where too use the 2 extra TS credits so we are tossing around those 2

Thank you so much

Hoop Dee Doo is a show & Backyard BBQ is more of a kid's dance party. I would prefer Hoop Dee Doo (their fried chicken & ribs are awesome), but it really depends on the atmposhpere you're looking for. (You didn't mention this, but we also did the luau last March & loved it. The food was great & the show was fun.)

If you have young kids, the BBQ is great - all of the characters come out and dance the night away! We found the food to be great with lots of choice and variety, especially for kids who are generally sick of nuggets and pizza after a week at Disney. The atmosphere was fun and laid-back, just an enjoyable experience.

We did both on our past two trips. Both are hokey, corney fun. DD7 loved both, but HDD was the best hands down. I didn't really enjoy the BBQ...less so the second trip...because its a lot of country. Country music, corney lasso guy...ok if you like that.

Hoop-Dee-Doo is one of the few places that we HAVE to do every trip down. The food is great, the show is great, the unlimited beer is great . We went to a convention at the Gaylord Palms this past September and my girlfriend insisted that we went to HDDR because we were in the area. IMHO, it is the only dinner show worth seeing.

We did the Hoop Dee Doo in August with 3 kids (ages 7, 6, & 2) and they loved it. The food was great as well.

Txs I was wondering the samething.

Although I have done neither, if you are trying to get the most bang for your 2TS, i would say HDD.
We are doing Mickeys BBQ this fall but are paying OOP instead of using 2TS credits. I just don't feel that $45 it costs per adult is worth the credits.

Mickey's Backyard Barbeque wins hand down for my husband. My daughter like to be up and a around and can do this here. The food was barbeque fare but good. My husband insisted that we do back this time. We had a great time and the entertainment was great even with the rain we had that night. Did not spoil it at all since it is under a roof.:dance3::dance3:

My grandkids both age 5 liked both, they had a really good time dancing with Mickey and friends and running and playing with the other kids.

For hoop-dee-doo they both got picked to go up on stage and I think that's why they liked that show.

I liked both as well, the only thing about hoop-dee-doo I did'nt like is that the tables were so close together.

We loved the BBQ..my dd had so much interaction with the characters..dancing with Minnie, Mickey and Goofy were one of the menories I will NEVER forget...There was a lot of country music, but we like that, so we had a great time!

Mickey's BBBQ gets my vote! My daughter (2) and our friend's sons (6) and (3) loved it!! HDD is fun too but I love character interactions for the kids!

When does Mickeys BBQ end for the season? We always do HDDR and LOVE it but usually when we are at the world BBQ is closed. This year we are hoping to go in Dec and I was wondering if the BBQ would still be going on. THank you!

We have been to the HDD a few times and have loved it every time...We always pay OOP because we like the cat 1 seating and the 5:00 show...Well worth the money...We save the credits for other meals because we always end up planning more meals than we have credits for...So paying cash works for us...But 2 credits is worth it IMO...

We are going to both this July....Never been to the BBQ...We are going because a large group of friends will be in WDW at the same time and they picked the BBQ for our big meal together...I am worried about going...My concerns are that it will be very hot and not liking that we have to wait in line then charge to get a good table...

Any tips on how to get a good table without knocking other families over to get there? I am not a big fan of the whole "pushy family" thing...There is that joke on the Jungle Cruise at the end about not pushing each other on the way out, like many families do in Disney...I do hate that aspect and worried it will come into play at the BBQ...Any advise?

My family is going back to the World in March, and we are planning to go to the BYB on March 18th. I've heard good things about both HDDR and BYB, but BYB won our vote this time because the kids (7 and 18 months currently) will be able to get up and dance, and I know they will love that. Plus they have mickey ice cream bars for dessert! YUM!

I have been to both and had a great time! I did enjoy the food more at HDR. It just seemed better. The BBQ was very relaxed and was a perfect ending to our trip. My son was able to dance with the characters and had tons of interaction. I was concerned my son (age 5) wouldn't enjoy the HDR but he loved it. This year we are going back to HDR and will do BBQ next time around. :wizard:
