Good, bad, or just ok? We have a group of 4 adults and 4 kids - from ages 2-8. Would you recommend this show? Thanks for any insight!

We definitely had fun. The food was good, but I found we didn't eat much due to all the entertainment, characters and dancing. My son loved it all, and we were constantly running after him. We said we would do it again, but we're opting for Hoop De Doo this year.

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! If your kids like characters, there is so much opportunity to get up and dance with the characters and the numbers are small enough that you feel like you are getting one-on-one buddy time. We really liked the food. I have to agree though - we didn't eat that much - we were having too much fun. We did both Hoop De Doo and BYBBQ... while we enjoyed both, this is the one we are returning to this time.

Go early. Seats are not assigned so it is first come first choice. The pavilion has long picnic tables in a sort of horseshoe pattern. We got thee later than we should have and sat at the outer ring. It was fine for us, but if you want to be closer to the center you need to be there early enough.

My kids absolutely loved this show! We didn't really eat much with entertainment and my kids were on the dance floor a lot of the time. We had so much fun that we are planning on doing it again on our next trip.

We are considering doing this in September in lieu of attending the Halloween Party. I was going to make reservations for my husband and four year old to do this while my older daughter and I attended the Halloween party, but I told my older daughter about it and she said she would probably prefer to do MBYB this year. Works for me! We may just make an evening of it and go to the campfire afterwards, possibly watching Hallowishes from the beach.

This sounds like an awesome idea! I didn't even think of this but I think my kids would love this! For our next trip we are planning MBYB on our last night so it would be great to end it with a campfire and singing and then possibly the movie afterwards since we can sleep in the next day (planning for a later breakfast in the AM)...Anyways I just looked it up and you can buy smores kits too. Does anyone know how much the smores kits cost at the campground and what is included in it? I have a family of 4, so could we share just 1 kit or would we need to purchase 2 and share them? The kids probably wouldn't eat too many smores but I have to admit smores are a weakness of mine LOL.

Thank you so much!! For those that have gone...how early do you need to arrive to get decent seats?

We loved it! Great character interaction. Good food...adult beverages...ice cream! A nice family evening entertainment.

I think the kit is around $10. Pretty expensive for chocolate and marshmallows. When we did this we brought our own bag of marshmallows, a couple of Hershey bars, and a box of graham crackers. We bought the sticks for about 50 cents each. That was easy because when we did it we were staying at the cabins.. Might be a little more difficult to travel with, but it is doable. I think you would need at least two kits for four people.

Hi all. How early would you suggest arriving? I was hoping to take my little one pony riding before this- could I get hubby and elder son to cue for the table? Thanks

Just to let u know I think the pony rides end at a fairly early time. For some reason 3:00 is sticking in my head...I would look that up but I am pretty sure somewhere between 3 and 4 the pony rides are over for the day...but u can still see the ponies and walk through the barn and there is also a playground there as well. Last year we go there 30-45 minutes ahead of seating time. They also had goofy out taking pictures and signing autographs while we waited!

NOTE1: Tables are long picnic tables of about 40 people per table, so you sit with
others. No reserved seating, so the "mad dash" for seats can be interesting. There is
no "front row", just the end of the picnic tables. Folks start lining up about 1-hr prior
to the 5:30pm seating. Also, the characters are there for dancing and front interaction,
and usually do not go thru tables, so sometimes there is a long line trying to get to the
characters. Also noted the sides are open to the weather. They put up plastic diverters
for winter and simple fans for summer, but it does get VERY hot/humid or cold. This is
not a well heated or air conditioned pavilion. "Dancing" characters interact well with
kids in front of the stage, and younger kids love it.
.
NOTE2: Mickey BBQ was always about one-half the price of the Hoop Dee Do Review. With
the popularity of DDP, they jumped the price double, including 2-TS coupons. WITH NO
CHANGE IN MENUS; NO CHANGE IN CHARACTERS; NO CHANGES AT ALL. Cost was barely
justified at lower prices, and not worth the current price for ribs-chicken-burgers.
.
NOTE3: The characters "dance" in front of the stage, and children come up to dance with
them. This creates a lot of pushing by the kids as they try to get next to their favorite
character. There are no lines like in the park for Meet & Greet, and no handlers to keep
the kids in a line or heaving.

I have to agree with Rustys assessment. I did not enjoy it at all. My kids loved it but we won't be back. The food was terrible, kids were running wild. Every 10 minutes they would announce a lost child. One kid, they couldn't find the parents for over 30 minutes, the poor thing just sat in the DJ booth and someone finally came and got her. We've done hoop de doo and we will do that again for sure.

We also did not enjoy this. Even my DD5 still says please don't make me go again. Food was fine - nothing amazing, but not terrible. We are going to try HDDR this year!

Wow thats awful! I think I would lose my mind if 1 of my kids were out of my sight for more than a minute, lol...That place isn't that big either, I mean there are a lot of people there but I think if I had lost sight of 1 of my kids I would find the first available CM to help me track them down, lol. We went last year and our kids had lots of fun (although I will say the characters seemed to be interacting and dancing with everyone except our toddler) but he was only 20 months so what did he know, LOL. We actually left the party early though bc we could see a HUGE storm rolling in and we were staying off site at this point so we didn't want to get caught up in the hoard of people racing to the buses in the pouring rain, LOL. We left after the trick roper guy. My older son thought that was the coolest thing ever. We didn't really eat much bc my kids were pretty picky eaters (especially the older one) and he thought everything on the buffet looked yucky except for the bread, lol...the food to me was just ok, but we weren't really there for the food we were there for the entertainment. All in all we are going to try it again next year because the kids really did have a blast.
