Would love to hear how an evening is here. I am considering it for Thanksgiving 2004. We will be going with our best friends and it will be their "trip of a lifetime". So please, how long, whats to eat, what characters, dancing??? Any info appreciated. We will e on a buget this trip so I am looking for the most bang for the buck!!!

We went to the BBQ two years ago in June. The meal is held in a covered outdoor pavilion; with Florida's summer heat & humidity it was uncomfortably hot. The seating is at long banquet tables and the food is served buffet style. I remember fryed chicken & ribs - certainly nothing special. The show consist of a C & W band, a line dance leader, a trick-rope performer & appearances by the characters. We found it really too crowded to enjoy the dancing or the characters. Luckily, this was not our first trip & my DD's had already seen lots of characters so it wasn't a big issue for us. We're big fans of many restaurants & shows at WDW but this is not one we plan to return to. Hope this helps.

I think its to risky for their first trip beside it will cost them 175.00 for the event. We can almost spend a day at Sea World for that price.

Sounds like a good choice. If someone really wants a dinner show, I would go with the Poly Luau or the Hoop De Doo Review. Good luck!

We went in Sept 2001. We did not like it at all. Did not care for the atmosphere. We just ate our picnic food that we paid a lot of money for and left.

Put it this way: do you really like country & western music and line dancing? If so give it a try; if not stay far away. You are in a pavilion with a lot of long park like tables and if it is hot outside, it is hot in there (but that will not likely be the case in late November). The food is served buffet style and is OK and there is also beer. But what you get is a country & western band for the evening and a lot of line dancing; every 30 minutes or so characters show up (during the band's break), stand up front and kids line up and get autographs. They then leave and the band comes back. Much safer for any group that might not be sure of what it wants and far more entertaining is Hoop Dee Doo. Also, though quite expensive, the biggest bang for your buck is Cirque Du Soleil in Downtown Disney Westside, which is the best show in WDW and all of Florida.
