Can anyone tell me about Mickey's Backyard BBQ? Is it outside? What characters are there? Do the characters come to your table for autographs and photos? If it is outside, do you think it would be too hot to go on Memorial Day? Do you think it is worth going to? I am thinking of using 2 TS credits for this. Thanks.

I'll be going Sept. 29 and I don't have much info either.
From what I have read, they have tables with benches and its under cover, the characters dance and kids can join in.

I don't know when they let you in but I think the earlier you get there the better talble you can sit at.

Not sure when you can start eating, the show starts at 6:30.

Anyone who has gone recently please let us know how it was.

It is in an outdoor covered pavillon. The tables are picnic tables and there is a dance floor and stage area. The food is at the back of pavillon as are the drink stations.

The characters do not go around and visit each table. They do however come out to dance and you are welcome to join them. So no autograph opportunity, but plenty of pictures.

As for worth 2 TS credit I think it depends. You are getting buffet food, but at the same time it does include beer & wine for adults. Entertainment is great and you know you are getting 3 hours worth if you stay the entire time. Not sure I would want to spend 2 TS credits on this over say a meal at Cali Grill. But for families where Cali Grill would be out of question because of the kiddos then I think it would be worth it.

We are going back on Oct 6th and are really looking forward to it :thumbsup2

Which characters are there?

It was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale. They were dressed in their best western/country outfits. Goofy was a sheriff. Minnie had on an adorable white dress & cowboy hat with red rhinestones.

Me and the Missus went to this on our first visit to Florida in 1995 and have always said we'd love to do it again.

We were on an organised coach trip with our tour operator and getting there and back was a bit of a hassle as we had to hitch a ride off my brother in law from our villa to the first hotel on the 192 to be picked up by the tour bus and then on our return we had to get a taxi from that same hotel back to our villa at Westridge on US27. At that time Westridge was still under construction so getting a taxi driver who knew where it was was a struggle.

As long as your transport home is sorted its a great night out, and gluttons like myself:woohoo: will get their moneys worth at the all you can eat buffet and especially the all you can drink Beer:banana: :rotfl:

I believe they opened up at 6pm. They also did family pictures before that near the entrance. And then food was served right at 6:30pm.
