Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Can anyone give me any info on this. I know it is held on Thursday and Saturday nights and I have seen very mixed reviews, but all the reviews that I can find are old. Has anyone tried it out within the last year with kids and what did you think? I am not expecting much from the food, but think my 4-year-old would love the dancing and roping. Which characters attend? Thanks!!

We went in early Dec 2005. It was a very chilly evening but that was our only complaint of the evening. My DS(4) LOVED it!

The characters were: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale. They were dressed in cowboy hats and boots.

The food was average. Hamburgers, bbq ribs, bbq chicken, etc.

I would think you need to be a country music fan to enjoy this event. That is all the band played. We are so we had a blast!

We attended the BBQ last summer. Our kids were 2 and 7 at the time. I agree with previous post that the food was average. Nothing special, but not bad either. If it were just my husband and I, I would probably say we wouldn't bother doing it again. Having said that, my kids LOVED it. They had the best time. The characters came out several times and would dance with the kids. Watching my daughter, 2, holding hands with Minnie Mouse while dancing and smiling like crazy made it completely worth it. The character interaction is different than other character meals. The characters dance, take a break and then dance more.

They do play country music which is fine by me. My husband doesn't like country music but didn't care because of the smiles on our kids face. If you go, don't forget your camera.
