Mickey's Backyard BBQ Question?

For some reason I cannot get the search feature to work. Anyone have any negative or positive reviews? I have red some "mixed" reviews somewhere. Thinking of taking 10-year old boy & girl. Any advice? Any better choices?

We enjoyed it when we did it 2 years ago. If you're on the meal plan, it's 2 credits-I didn't really think it was worth it, but still fun. It was all you can eat BBQ style food-burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, corn, baked beans, etc. Also wine and beer included. Cute show with characters, and the kids can dance with them if they want. I think you get a souvenier picture also.

We went in November. My DDs were scared at first as it was very loud, they got past that and had a great time.

Foodwise it was my DH's favorite meal of our trip. The ribs were very tender & flavorful. My DH said they had the best potato salad he has ever eaten. My DDs loved the BBQ chicken & mac w/cheese.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale come out in western wear and dance with the kids. Then there is rope trick guy & other things. . . .they even teach the electric slide. We found it a lot of fun.

It was pricey for BBQ food - but we plan to go again next year as everyone enjoyed it so much.

This was our last meal of our vacation and my husbands favorite. The kids and roam around on the dance floor with the characters as long as they like. Lots of character interaction!!! There was a cowboy doing trick roping and a band played for awhile. The food was ok. It was buffet style with chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs, corn on the cob, corn bread, beans, ect. Typical BBQ stuff. My son's favorite was the mickey icecreams. All you can eat of course.

Before the meal started we were greeted out front by Goofy and Chip/Dale for one on one photos. Games were set out to keep the little ones entertained until show time.

We will go to this again for sure.

A perfect way to end a vacation.

Food wasn't great for the price but we did have a great time. Our whole family loves going whenever we can. It was nice to have the buffet so the kids didn't really have to sit still for the whole meal. They could get up and dance.

Thanks for the information. I have a friend who is traveling to WDW for the first time. When she booked her trip, she originally booked the DxDDP and the CM told her that she couldn't miss the BBQ. She is no changed to the regular DDP because there is no way she needs all of those ADRs. I have told her that the 2TS ADRs are really not a good use of the plan, but there is no talking to her.

Also, she is going in March and there are limited Spectro and F! nights. Of course, the BBQ is only on those nights. I just wanted to see if it was worth missing F!.

Do you guys think it's worth it for a family without any children? We've been going for years, but for whatever reason we've never attended this one. We've gone to the luau & hoopdy, but never the BBQ.

We did this show with five kids in September and my feedback is that although it is fun and the kids get to move around and get their own food, (including ice creams!), my older two (7 and 12) seemed to be less into it. The 5yr old and 4 year old seemed to enjoy the dancing around with the characters and the "lasso" part of the show. We also did the Hoop Dee Doo revue and that was entertaining to all of us. My recommendation would be to give that a try as the BBQ with Mickey was a bit too long for us.
