Mickeys backyard bbq-is it worth it?

My son has been mentioning for years that he wants to go to mickeys backyard bbq. Just wondering if it is worth it or not. we have already done the hoop-de-doo revue and really liked that, but no one but me really wants to go to that again so soon. should we try the bbq or skip it??

i will say there is great character interaction at the BBQ. the food was not our favorite~picnic type foods. there was a guy who did rope tricks and there was line dancing. i would rather return to the HDD.

Mickey's barbeque is similar to Hoop De Doo in food (no strawberry shortcake), but offers line dancing and characters and country songs. DH and I had a great time (it's only $10 cheaper than HDD) dancing to a special dance for folks celebrating an event, and kissing Mickey, and enjoying the adult beverages. I also need to remember that the seating is at picnic tables, and people with little children find it hard to negotiate the buffet tables. DH wants to do it again. For us it was wonderful, not everyone agrees.

I enjoyed it as well, but it's not "great"! I would do it again, though. My daughter is at the age where she would country line dance and interact with the characters more. Give it a shot - what the heck?

For us, it wasn't worth it but I am glad we did it. If nothing more...just to say we did it and that's it. LOL

If your son really wants to go...then you should take him. Don't expect too much 'cause the chaos is CRAZY! There seems to be no order to the character interaction. The food, though, is pretty good...basic picnic food, but good. And there is wine and beer...which you might need for the headache you are bound to get from all the chaos! LOL

So my advice...go and try to enjoy. I'm sure once you've done it, you'll be glad but won't be in a hurry to return...I know we aren't in a rush!
