has anyone done the bbq my sons have been asking about it, is it worth going or avoiding lol

Reviews are on the not great side of mixed but I am booked here too. I am all for trying anything once and I think it looks like a fun idea.

I have been twice, first time was great, the second time was not as good, still enjoyed it.

I used my dinning plan both times, however if had to pay in cash I prob would not have done it twice.

Food was good, desert on first visit was great large cake :thumbsup2

It was nice just to stroll up and collect beer :cool1:

Characters are difficult to get to, as they appear on dance floor with everyone so you can imagine the stampede, for kids trying to dance with favourite character.

we went and had a great time. At first it was very hard to get near the characters but if you stay right to the end you can dance with them as a lot of the famillies left quite early. The food was ok and the drink was plenty.

Sounds like good fun - what is the cost of this?

Hillbilly hell.

Do it if its on your DDP. If not, very expensive, especially if you don't drink alcohol.

The characters are available, but get swamped by kids. When we were there there were a hell of a lot of southern families waving confederate flags..

Not the greatest choice of food either.

We'd scheduled this into our plans last year but it wasn't available. Haven't bothered trying again this year but I would consider it for a future trip. I think it looks quite fun!

We did a long time ago (1998) we don't drink and didn't think the food choices were great - lots of flies buzzing round the food too.

Best bit was the character interaction.

Worst bit was that we booked through Virgin so everyone there was British which I think changes the atmosphere a lot - might as well have been at Butlins.

But this was 12 years ago - things will probably have chaged a lot.

Have done this our last 7 trips ( two before we had DS  )
and we really really like it.

Food is good I think,I dont drink but soft drinks can flow and coffee too.

The last twice the dessert has been Mickey bars or those really large ice poles...all you can eat...and one year the guy sitting next to us ate 5 Mickey bars !!!

We found the character interaction better last yaer because they had put smaller dance floors at each end of the seating areas so the characters moved round to them and it was not so crowded.

I did think DS was maybe past it this year ( he is 9 ) but he has both shocked and disgusted I even thought so.....he is a Chip and Dale freak so any chance to meet his boys he is well up for it !!

anyways,my 2p worth is give it a go...its fun !!

done it and it was great, show great and the beer on tap was the coldest on-site
and food was decent BBQ food
