We are going to Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the Ft. Wilderness with DS 4 1/2 and DD 2 3/4. I would like people's thoughts who have been to this. Opinions of food, show and would it be good for our kids who are these ages?

We have it booked also. It seems to be just like a giant cook-out!! We chose it over Hoop-De-Doo because we liked the idea of being able to get up and move around. Mickey and friends are there, there is line-dancing, country music. Food is typical cook-out fare.

We went in May of 2000. We weren't impressed. The price for a family of 4 is pretty high for what you got. It was bbq food and a country band . A few characters came out to dance but not that much. You did get unlimited cans of soda, draft beer and wine. The beer/wine station was all the way on the other side of the room. I believe the soda was in two places. It was very hot and by the time you went to get a drink, 4 people bumped into you and was 1/2 gone.
I would rather go somewhere else for the money. We love all of the other character meals in disney this was okay. Nothing to write home about.

We did this in April 2000. We had a large party go and it was a way to regroup after a day at MK. There is a large pavillion with picnic tables under. It was hard for some of the older people in the family who expected to rest and who do not appreciate picnic table settings.

The food was o.k. We found the character interaction fabulous! My dd was not yet three and we have a video of her dancing with Chip n Dale. Priceless!

There was line dancing for quite awhile that people of all ages seemed to enjoy. Teenagers and grandparents were dancing up a storm to the pretty talented band! While they danced, there were toddlers dancing with characters.

There was opportunity for pictures with the characters - Chip, Dale, Goofy and others I can't remember.

We had a great time!
