This is kind of an unusual question, but I am trying to locate the Mickey's 75th Anniversary InspEARation statues. These are the large statues of Mickey done by variious celebrities and artists, that appeared in the parks briefly and also traveled the country. I know after the tour was over, they were auctioned. I am now trying to locate them in their new homes, and hopefully get photos with them. I know that Rosie O'Donnel's was in the World of Disney Store in New York a few months ago, but if you have seen any of the other ones, please post it here. Maybe other people would enjoy seeing them if they are nearby as well.
Thanks for you help.

Found this in an article at LaughingPlace.com

In 2005, Sotheby's Auction House will auction off the statues for charity. All proceeds from the auction will go to the charity chosen by each artist.

Thank you for the links. I hadn't read the Laughingplace article.

I have seen all the statues, and in fact I have the Sotheby's auction catalog. I am just curious as to what happened next. I know they were auctioned off, but where did each one end up. I know some of them probably ended up with private collectors, but has anyone seen any on display anywhere since the auction, which was around August of 2005?

I never heard anything about who won. I went to the Sothebys site and after registering (Like I am ever going to bid! HA!) I was able to see what they sold for but not who the purchaser was. Sorry I couldn't help out more!

2 of those Mickeys are here in Michigan - in Detroit to be exact - one is Tigers Mickey and he was at Comerica Park this year while the Tigers were playing a great season. The other is Red Wing Mickey and was in Joe Louis Arena where the Red Wings play.

Odd that you should ask that question now...

Two weeks ago I saw the Blue tractor/trailer with the logo for the event, on route 50 in Ocoee. I thought "why hasn't that rig been repainted?"

I am not sure when I will get to Detroit, but this is a start on my quest.

As for the posting about the truck on Hwy. 50 in Ocoee, not sure why they haven't repainted it yet, but what is even odder is that I know now from other sources, that one of the Mickeys actually resides in a private residence in Ocoee.

Thanks for the help. Please let me know if anyone spots any others.
