Mickeyhead door magnet size?

Hubby and I will be cruising next month and he wants some door magnets for our stateroom. When we visit WDW I always get a personalized Mickeyhead ornament representing the trip so I am thinking of doing this similar idea for cruising. We would like one representating our first cruise (2016) and now one for this upcoming cruise as well. We like the Mickeyhead styles we are seeing but the sizes vary greatly. Can anyone with some experience with this offer an opinion as to a good size we should be considering? I’m seeing sizes from 9” all the way down to 4”. I remember the doors aren’t huge so 9” seems too big and I’d Be concerned there isn’t enough ‘flat’ surface for it to lay flat on whereas I already know the 4” is likely too small.
Any input appreciated!
Cheers,

I like the bigger 9" magnet on my door.

So glad you told me it was the sun. I thought it was a bagel and was completely confused. It's great though!

Bagel? lol! I never thought of that! I wonder if others were confused. :goodvibes In my defense, it was a SWDAS cruise, so I was hoping a space theme would be okay.

The door number is supposed to be 7.5 inches. The center of my sun measures 2mm bigger than that (so one little tick marker after the 7.5" on the measuring tape.) It did seem a little bigger than that on the door, though. If you cut a 7.5" hole for whatever you design, you should be just fine.

Seconding this. If you go with 7.5 inches then whatever you print should fit around it (in my case there was a little room to spare, actually, but I wouldn't go smaller and have it not fit around it.

By the way, the door number item on the door is approx. 7 1/4" across.

I know it is past dinner time, but that sun looks a lot like a cheese pizza to me...yummm!
Cheese pizza was also my first thought.
I make my magnets based on 8.5"x11" sheets of magnetic paper. Sometimes smaller magnets within the paper size and sometimes half the picture on one sheet and half on the other. The bigger the better, I always say.

OMG these responses are so funny! I got that it was the sun but the suggestion of a cheese pizza is stuck in my head now LOLOL
MY gut told me 7”-8” W would be best- i’ll stick to that.
❤️ The responses, thanks!
