Mickey waves goodbye - this is so sweet!

Here is what they do at Disneyland Paris when there are no fireworks during the off season:

"How can the park closure be sweetened at least with a bit of extra magic since there is no fireworks outside the summer season to top the day off? Easy: by bringing the mouse back with whom it all began: Mickey!
Since the end of the summer season Mickey is waving goodbye to all guests leaving the Disneyland Park between 6.45 pm and shortly past 8.00 pm. To make sure everybody can see him and he is not hidden behind a huge group of guests clammoring for an autograph he appears on the balcony of the Main Street Station. With this new feature guest demand for an appearance of Mickey at the end of a day is answered, since many guests already wondered aloud, why the mascotts of non-Disney parks often say goodbye at the exits of their parks, but Mickey is absent in Paris. So here we go - Mickey saying Goodbye after a day full of magic and dreams!"

He does that at Disney World now too... we were there a few weeks ago and we were waiting for the boat to Wilderness Lodge and he was out there at the train station saying and waving goodbye. He had a spotlight on him and everything. It was sooo sweet and really neat!

I have seen CM's with Mickey hands waving goodbye at WDW at the top of the train station too. I thought that THAT was really nice! How cool if it was Mickey himself.

Cool! Is that just on non-Wishes nights (are there any?) or every night? I admit that after Wishes, we ducked into the movie theatre and watched cartoons while the crowd thinned out, so we wouldn't have seen him if he was there.

It was a parade AND wishes night! On our way out, we saw the CM's with the mickey hands and they each had a sign spelling out See You Really Soon. And then when we got around front to the exit is when we heard Mickey, looked up and saw him... was very cool!

We saw Mickey wave Goodnight back in April 2004 from the WDW train station and it was after Wishes...perfect ending to the day.

He has been doing this for a while now at the MK - here is a picture we took in May

he is up there for about 10-15 minutes -how do I know? My 20 month old made us stay until he left!!!! It was our last night and the only thing all week he made a huge fuss over when we tried to leave!! Maybe he knew we were giong home!!

He does this every night - this was after spectro and wishes

AMAZING! Put this in the category of "There's ALWAYS something new to learn about WDW."

I've been reading this board (compulsively) for almost 2 1/2 years, have the Unofficial Guide, Passporter, and subscribed to Tour Guide Mike, and this is the first time I've heard that Mickey waives goodbye at MK!

Yep, we saw Mickey wave goodbye too one night last year. It was a great way to end our day at MK. My girls loved it!!

I knew Mickey did this but I haven't gotten to see it yet. When I do, I think it will be one of those "smiling through your tears" moments...

We've seen him do this too....I think it was last Oct. the first time we saw him. He says lots of cute things too. I was so excited...I think we just stood there for like 5 min. with my mouth open. It's so amazing to watch the kids all tell him goodbye too....and the adults like me. Very cool.
