It was on this board back in November that gave a tip Amazon was selling Single Mickey Wafflers for $33.81. The waffler came yesterday and now I'm 2nd guessing my purchase. I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with the 4 in 1 Waffler. I presume that model makes 4 small waffles (like @ WDW) instead of the 1 big one the Single Waffler makes. Anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks, Maggie

We have the one that makes one big Mickey (I got it last year about this time, 75% off at TDS, can't beat that.) We love it. I pefere them to the smaller kind, I guess it depends what kind you like.

I think I would like the single one. Does anyone know where these are on sale now? I checked amazon but they are not on sale.

They were on sale through Disneydirect.com for around $30.00. I got the one through amazon and they had the same one for sale in the parks last weekend for around $70.00!

We have the single one, love it.......but I HATE making them because you only do one at a time and everyone has to wait and it takes a long time to get them all made. Not long for each one, but when you're making 15-20 of them, you can be there for an hour!
Now don't get me wrong, I do LOVE them, but I only make them when I wake up early and have time to make them all before the kids get up. I was thinking of getting the 4 in 1, but they would be too little and thin, we like the big fat ones! I have been wanting to get another one so it will be done in half the time, just waiting on the right price!

disneydirect has pooh and tigger for $30. I just placed an order for other stuff yesterday and was hoping to add this so i don't have to pay twice for shipping but too late.

Anyone have free shipping codes?

I usually make a big batch and freeze them. You can toast them just like eggo's.

DW bought the single Mickey waffler last May and we use it at least once a week. We love the size of the waffle that it makes. The waffler is very well made and the non-stick surface really works and there is very little to clean up afterwards. The 4 in 1 looks neat, but the waffles are much smaller. They would be nice for younger children but I would recommend the single one for adults and children 4 and older. BTW DD got the Villaware Princess waffler for Christmas. It makes a Cinderella coach shaped waffle with Cinderella and her prince. "Santa" bought it at Home Depot in case anyone is interested. Works really well, too.

We have the 4 in 1 and love it. We use it quite frequently because they are so easy to do. We also freeze the waffles and stick them in the toaster oven when needed. We chose the 4 in 1 because we have smaller children and it seemed like the big one would take forever to cook them all breakfast, this way they each get the waffles at the same time.

BTW we got the waffle iron a couple of years ago at JC Penny when they had a 25 or 30% off sale. It was around $40-50.

Thanks everyone! Think I'll keep the Single Waffler. Maybe I'll even try it out tomorrow, since it looks like we might have a snow delay here in CT. There was a code which waived the $9 shipping on Amazon but I think it expired. I ordered in Nov. and it came yesterday. Sort of a belated Christmas present. Maggie

Is anyone else disappointed with the single Mickey Waffler? I bought one years ago (a VitAntonio one) and I hope it keeps working. The new models are more like a pancake to me that a waffle. I think the 4 mini waffles would probably be "crispier".

Waffles do freeze well, and their much better than the frozen ones you buy.

I never thought about freezing them, we do refrigerate the left overs but then forget about them..and you know how that goes!! hmmm, maybe if we have snow I may just have to make some waffles!!

Love my single Mickey waffle maker! Great idea about the freezing and reheating... Sundays are my days to make ahead and do the retoasting thing as a quick breakfast treat during the school week!

Very interesting. I didn't know HD sold waffle irons. What department was it in and how much did it cost? We spend a great deal of time (and money) at HD lately since we are doing an upstairs addtion. Come to think of it I have some rebate gift cards for there..........

The Disney Princess Waffle Iron was pictured in a Home Depot ad in our Family Fun magazine. We found the waffle iron in a special Disney Princess display area in our local Home Depot. They had DP rugs, mirrors, wallpaper, etc. It was also available through their website before Christmas. Hope this info. helps. I think it was around $30.

I also have the Mickey Waffler single and Love It!!! I use it for Quesadilla's, sandwiches (Mickey shaped grilled cheese), and cakes. It's a nice compact size appliance and easy to clean so I love using it.

If you want a crispier waffle, use less batter to make the waffle thinner.

It is also a baker and I put cake mix in it and they came out great! I let Ds's decorate their own Mickey Cake with Icing, sprinkles and candy. That was really cute and 1 box of Betty Crocker makes at least 6 Mickey cakes. Just follow the box directions. We had our own Grand Adventures in Cooking class right here at home!

So these may be additional reasons to choose the single instead of the smaller ones, but Im sure you could be just as creative!

I wanted to add that I purchased mine from Amazon also, after it was posted here about the great price!

Thanks for the cake idea! I'll have to try that!

Just checked the Home Depot website and the Princess Waffle is still available. It is $29.99.

I have a Quesadilla maker I got for Christmas and I love it. I never thought of using the Mickey Mouse waffler for that..or for grilled cheese. Do you use the 10 in flats to make these? Great idea, and the grands would love the shape.

Thanks I remember some of that stuff (I almost got some since we are reduing her room and guess what she wants.) I don't remeber the iron, but I am looking next time.

Those are some great ideas. Even ore ways to get more use out of our $16 dollars (like I said.... Good deal, 75% off :earseek: ) One of my better finds.

Yes the 10" flour tortilla's fit perfect in the heated outer ring around Mickey cut out shape. Dh loved these!

I don't want to start a debate, but we stayed 16 nights in a DVC (which already has a kitchenette) studio over Christmas and my gift (from the boys) was the Mickey Waffler. During our stay I used it to make hot ham and cheese, grilled cheese, quesadillas, waffles, hot dogs, etc. It's basically a Mickey shaped contact cooker, so don't be shy with what you try!

My Ds's always ate the ears from their waffles first, so one morning I made Mickey Ears. I only put batter in the ear portion and made small silver dollar pancakes. They liked using their hands to dip these in the syrup. That was definitely an act of love  , making 2 small pancakes at a time, but they really liked them and we were on vacation and the weather was terrible that day.

Happy Waffling! LOL
