I believe adults are allowed in the Mickey Pool. They must be allowed in the one ear for non-potty trained kids for supervision.
On the Disney Cruise Line DVD, they have pictures of the Mickey Pool with adults sitting on the outside edge, as well as in the pool, surrounding Mickey's head. The commentary says "Mom and Dad can get their feet wet too, but sliding, that's for kids."
Funny story, on our first day, there were some teenage girls sitting on the pool edge - one was eating ice cream. The life guard went over to her and told her she had to get out of the pool. I was thinking it was somewhat rude of the girl, but then I heard her tell her friends "He talked to me!" She purposely broke the rules to get the life guard to talk to her. Now that's ingenuity (sp?).
