We pulled up to the DLH, I got out to go check us in while the rest of the family waited in the car curbside for me. I walk right up to the check-in desk eventhought it was fairly crowded because it was close to check-in time. She pulled up our room and said we were upgraded to a room with a view in the Wonder tower. Since I heard so many great things about the Dreams tower, I figured I had nothing to lose if I asked if there were any empty rooms that she wouldn't mind swapping us. She had to bring a supervisor over to do it, but he did some fancy finger typing and then walked away. She looks down and says well your room isn't ready but you have just been upgraded to a Mickey Mouse Themed Suite! Stuff like this doesn't happen very often to us and I was alone with no one to jump up and down with! lol I couldn't wait to tell me family the wonderful news. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the suite.

And the other best part was our view...it was AMAZING!!! We could sit on the couch and watch the fireworks and people enjoying themselves in DTD. To the right we could watch the rides and lights at DCA and see the PPH.

Oh, wow!!! That is so cool!!! Your boys are adorable, btw. It must have been so fun to tell your family how you scored!!:cool1:

My sis and I got upgraded to a king view room Thanksgiving week, which looks like it was very close to yours! Now that I see your pictures, I can tell that our room was part of a suite (same entry setup) but we only got the king room half of it. We were in the corner room on the 7th floor next to the sorcerer's hat and overlooking DTD...judging by the palm trees in your picture, you were not too far from where we were!

Would it be totally strange to do my whole house like that? wow, you guys were so lucky that the "special room" was available, Im going to have to ask for that room if I ever stay at the DLH! My kids would be in heaven!

Congrats! Your boys look very happy!

Yes, we were on the 7th floor, take a right when you get off the elevator and we were the second door on the left. If you are looking at the dreams tower from DTD we were just to the left of the concierge elevator. I remember you saying you got upgraded during T-day....what a nice surprise!!! Does DLH do these upgraded often?

We asked how much it would be to extend our stay and they said if we went through the hotel directly it would be $700 :scared1: However we could try to call WDTC and ask them to extend our stay with the same price we paid. We didn't call, but we were just curious on the cost.

How awesome!!!

I need *NEED* that Mickey wallpaper..

Congrats!!!
I HAVE that Mickey wallpaper! Black mickey heads and a different border but that's the paper in my DH's Mickey themed bathroom in our house. We put it in about 3 or 4 years ago.

I don't know about upgrades...I have never been upgraded before except for one time when our sink backed up and we were given a room with a view of the pool instead of the parking lot. They also gave us vouchers for a character meal and front-of-the-line ride vouchers, so they are good about making it up to you if something happens. DH did sort of ask for something, though. My sister and I had requested Dreams tower far in advance and I checked back twice more to make sure they had the request, so I was pretty disappointed when we checked in and found we'd been put in the Magic tower. But I still like that tower and it was the ap rate for a standard room ($149) so I didn't quibble...until we saw how little it was! I didn't even know they had a room that small at DLH. That's when we went and requested something else (1 double bed for my sister and me? Uh uh!) and were given the king suite in the Dreams tower. Well, they called it a suite but it was only half the suite. It had that same double door entry and then 2 doors in a little foyer thing. We never tried the other door, though...it did have a Privacy Please sign on the door and a different room number. I wonder if we had both rooms and didn't know it?! Ha ha. Anyway, on checkout day there was a thing slipped under our door saying we could extend our stay for $129/night! Unfortunately, that wasn't possible. I'd never heard of that before. In all the times we've stayed at DLH, I've never received a discounted extended-stay offer.

I forgot to tell you how precious your little girl is!!

Thanks for the compliments on the kids :)

Our two rooms had two different room numbers too. I wonder what was in your other room, maybe a themed room??

Oh wow!!!!! That's so cool!! congrats!! All these upgrades are making me regret using our time share points for our trip next month! LOL

I love the Mickey themed room, it's too cute!

Congratulations to you and your family. It looks like your boys really enjoyed it! :goodvibes

Out of curiosity, what room were you SUPPOSED to have?
Did you upgrade from a std room to the Mickey suite?
Or from a 1-bedroom suite to the Mickey suite?
