I heard that you can arrange to have Mickey call your home before you make your trip and say that he is ready to see you or something to that effect.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so how does one go about doing it.

Thanks

Thanks for asking this question. We are definitely interested in doing this for our children and wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't asked!! Love your location--we are neighbors!!!

Which message did you choose for just before the trip? I am thinking about maybe the night before, so don't know whether to choose good night or something else. Also I don't know whether to make it a surprise or let them choose which princess will call....and do I get one call for each girl or have them both get on a phone? Cuz if one gets a call first the other will be jealous until she finds out she's getting a call too! Such decisions!

We have Mickey scheduled to call DS6 this Friday morning at 8:30, right before he leaves for school. We were supposed to leave that night, but, now, we're surprising the boys and picking them up at school at 1PM. We're using the "going on a trip" theme.

That is so cool. Is it expensive? Our girls would go crazy thinking Cinerella called them.

It's $2.49

If you have Coke reward points, you can get it through them too. I forget how many points it takes.

This is great information. How sweet this will be. We are leaving for our 1st Disney trip in 7 days!! Yahoooooo! The kids will be so excited to hear these special calls. Thanks for the great info. :yay:

We'll be there around the same time as you!

Next week at this time, we'll be at MK!!

who do you call? do you have a number? Thank you, it would be well worth it. I thought it would be more than that.

Post #2 has the link to click on to get to the website to schedule the call. You pick your character, pick what type of call, arrange for the date/time and then pay for it. It's very easy to do and then they'll email you the directions for when the call is made.

We used this for our trip in May just make sure you don't miss the call.

When the call comes, it's not the character talking right away. There's a short message explaining what the call is, then usually a commercial for something. You have to press the 1 key to get the character to come on.

I'd suggest answering the phone, then handing it to the child.

I went partway through the ordering last night and found out you can preview the script of what they will say. I knew DD5 would want Jasmine so I picked her, then the Good Night, then there was a choice of your child's favorite things. Two of them were playing with dolls and playing with cats- I knew one of those would be it. This morning DH asked her if she liked cats or dolls better and she said cats. So hers is decided on.

For DD8 I just tried Cinderella and one of the favorite things for Cinderella was horses which is perfect for her.

I liked the good night with the favorite things better than the trip one since it seemed more personalized. So we are going with the call the night before. Now just have to decide who will get their call first and how far apart to schedule them.

We did this last year and had calls on Christmas Eve for the kids from Mickey, Jasmine, and Tigger. It was great! The kids will get another call this year too.

I couldnt find the "going on a trip" theme. I wanted Mickey to call the night before we leave for WDW... How can you choose that? Thanks

Mickey -> Good Morning -> Continue -> Taking a trip

Here's the text of the call: "Good morning, pal! It's me, Mickey.

Your mom told me you've got a real big day planned.

And that you're taking a trip!

Oh boy! That sounds like fun! Gee Pluto, what should we do today? Guess we could go fishin' or visit Donald and Goofy or go on a picnic with Minnie. I think he wants to do all three. Guess Pluto and I better get movin' then.

Welp, I hope you have a swell day, pal! And I'll see ya real soon! "

I did it under the "good morning" selection. then, on the next page in the pull down menu "going on a trip' was one of the selections. We had the call scheduled for 8:30 the morning of the day we were to leave. DS got so excited that Mickey was calling him.

In fact, I just realized there is a good night selection. Maybe, I'll have Mickey call and say good night to him this weekend. He really misses him already. We had a character breakfast scheduled last Saturday at Ohanas for Lilo and Stitch and then we were leaving right after to come home. Mickey was supposed to be there but Goofy was there instead. Pluto was there as well. Luckily, DS6 didn't know Mickey was supposed to be there. He went over to Pluto and told him to tell Mickey good-bye for him and he started to tear up and gave Pluto the sweetest hug. It was one of the "mommy moments" that's for sure.

I just placed my order for Mickey to call my son the morning we leave for our Disney trip...he's going to be so excited! :goodvibes

Thanks-before I read this thread I didn't know this existed-what a cute idea!
