I am throwing my daughter a Mickey Mouse themed birthday party in a couple weeks. She is going to be 2 and I already have the basics taken care of - Mickey plates, napkins, cake . . .

Question - does anyone have any ideas for "activities" or fun things to do that are Mickey themed at the party? She will probably only have 4 other children here and keep in mind they are all only around 2 years old. Just looking for some other ideas on how to spread more Mickey around.

Thanks!

I read somewhere that you could print out or copy some coloring pages of your theme and let the kids color during a time where you wouldn't have structured activities, maybe as they are arriving. My daughter is turning 2 in a couple of weeks and is having a Pooh themed party with 4 other 2 year olds and that is one of the things we are going to have out so they can color if they wish. I am still looking for other ideas as well.

My son had a Mickey and Friends party when he turned 5. It was so much fun!!! Let me share what we did, and see how you can taylor it to little ones, and a much smaller group.

We did a Mickey pull-string pinata, so when the kids arrived, I had them decorate a brown paper bag with Mickey/Disney stickers. They used the bags for their pinata loot.

I had a craft. We made Mickey and Goofy out of toilet paper rolls. Perhaps you could do something really simple like have them make Mickey puppets out of brown bags. The kids could color them, and the parents could cut and help them glue the pieces on. I did a search for Mickey crafts, or something like that, and got tons of printables and craft ideas. And yes, they did have plenty of printable coloring pages.

We played pin the bone in Pluto's mouth. You could do something similar with a Mickey theme. Draw Mickey on a posterboard, and have them "pin" on his ear or something like that.

A big hit for all ages was a Mickey and Friends hunt. I set it up like an egg hunt. I got little balls, and put Mickey and Friends stickers on each ball, and hid them (you could just scatter them or hide them really easy for little ones). With the older kids, they had to find one of each friend, but the little guys would love just finding the balls.

And perhaps the biggest hit, which every age LOVED, was our balloon drop/dance party. We got one of those balloon nets that drop balloons when you pull the string. We have the video Fun and Fancy Free (Mickey and the Beanstalk). At the end, they have a Mickey music video (I can't remember the name of the "real" song it is made after). We played the video and dropped the balloons, and the kids had so much fun.

Have fun! pixiedust:

If you have a toddler bowler set, you can put the characters on the pins print out and tape. Then you can declare who knocked down Pluto??

ALso used the Mickey Pinata and a craft with a magntic poly clear frame and they decorated with mouse ears etc and girls the little bows.

I made a point of taking their pics solo and one group one and gave in the thank you card for them to put in their frame!

IT is wonderful to see on fridges 8 years later!!!

Whatever you do always do it with the quick dry craft glue!!! Nothing worse then heading them home with ooozzing glue!

Musical chairs if you have any toddler chairs decorate with ears or some other Disney things. Naturally you most be playing the Disney Party music Cd to that of course!!!!

Most importantly enjoy yourself! Have a great time! party: :bday: :cake:

I had a Mickey Mouse 4th birthday for my daughter in December. It was small and just family, but everyone loved it. I had DD stuffed Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto from the Disney Store at the table, of course with all the Mickey paperware. Instead of a big cake, I made a bunch of Mickey Mouse cupcakes, frosted with chocolate frosting and mini oreo cookies for the ears.

The best part of all was the phone call from Mickey himself!!!
Disney offers "Enchanted Phone Calls", which you can get from Mickey or a variety of princesses, and is tailored to a few specifics (like "4th" birthday, family party, etc.) After her magical phone call, out came a box of Mickey themed gifts from the Disney Store. I also made a card with a picture of Mickey and Minnie holding hands (found on the internet) and a message from Mickey to her. She is still wowed he remembered her birthday! :hyper:

Also, don't forget the "Pluto Chow"!

The old standby recipe of crispix cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, but with a much better title!

I have seen a few Disney cookies at Dollar General and Walgreens for about $1 per bag. I thought about splitting a bag up and repackaging into 3 or 4 bags to add to goodie bags. The cookies are really cute.

They had some of those mickey ear cookies at dollar tree a few months ago. Seems like they usually have some disney stuff that could work.
