Mickey Mile Question

I particiapted in my first Disney 1/2 Marathon last week. Unfortunately, the kids could not come down with me. I had such a great time, an am planning on running the full marathon in 2010 My kids (will be 9 and 8 in 2010) loved the pictures, and loved the idea of participating next year. I don't think they will be up for the 5K, but can anyone share with me their experiences with the Mickey Mile? I am assuming parents can run along to support thier kids, correct? Are the medals similar to those from the full or 1/2 marathon? Does registration fill up quickly? I tried "search', but came up with a story about a dog named Mickey walking 1000 miles...

The medals were in the shape of the mickey head and looked to be the same material as the 5k and other kids races. This link shows someone with the medal. http://www.asiorders.com/view_user_photo.asp?EVENTID=40339&ID=60331668 This is the first year for the Mickey Mile and it looked like there were a good number of participants.

I know registration filled up but it was late in the year (November/December time frame). That is no guarantee about this year though. Parents can run with their kids if they want but they do not receive a medal or time.
