Mickey just called, he wants you guys to start the fireworks!!!!!!

Oh your poor aunt and mother! I can just imagine them yelling on Big Thunder Mountain. Too funny!

I know what you mean, it was funny but I did feel bad for them. I kept expecting mom to back out, but she never did. I was proud of her for trying, but I'm guessing I'll never get either of them on a coaster ever again.

The Crystal Palace? Loving your report!

TK

Fantastic guess!! And thank you, glad you're enjoying it so far.

Day 2

That 5:45 a.m. alarm went off way too early even for being at disney, but eventually we drug outselves out of bed and began getting ready. After showering and getting dressed we opened up our connecting room to see how things were coming along next door only to find out there was a bit of a problem. Jake was sick!! He wasn't able to go more than a few minutes without throwing up.....poor little guy. My aunt of course blamed the food from the night before gave him food poisoning, but in reality she herself had been sick just two days before we left so I'm guessing he got a touch of whatever she had. We debated what to do for a while and finally decided we'd go on and go because he was VERY determined not to miss out on Pooh and Tigger. We decided to go and if he didn't get any better than he and either Karen and Dan would come back to the hotel with him.

VENTING WARNING!!!!!!!

This was my biggest annoyance that happened on this trip as far as something unmagical against disney. The day before we had stopped at the front desk and told them of our 8 a.m. ADR at the Crystal Palace and how we should get there. None of the parks opened until 9 that day, but during my research for the trip I saw where they had early morning character meal buses to get people to those pre park opening ADR's. The girl we talked to who looked more confused than ever said there was no such thing and we should have made our ADR for after opening and those early meals were only for people in hotels close enough to walk or those driving themselves. We told her we thought she might be mistaken, but she just kept seeming so confused and pecking on her computer saying she just didn't know how we'd ever make it on time. Finally another nice woman came over and looked at the computer and said the first bus would start at 6:45 and then another at 7:15. We thanked her and decided we'd try to be at the 6:45 time just in case. Well, because of Jake being sick and just our first morning we were a bit behind and didn't get down there until 7:05. Oh well, the next bus should get us there on time still. As we walked out there was a bus sitting about ten feet back from the MK slot, but not actually at it. Mom and I stopped as we passed by to verify with the driver what we'd been told and someone would be coming. He just snapped at us and said go get in line and there will be a bus there when it's time. A lot of people hate on the disney buses, but we personally love them and have never had a problem so that was a little surprising his attitude. The guy then went on to sit there eating his breakfast borrito. We got in the line and there was another woman there we started talking to and she said she'd been there since 6:40 and no bus yet so we didn't feel too bad about being late. Finally 20 minute later that same driver finally finished his breakfast, started up the bus, and pulled up to our stop for us to get on. What!?!?! He was just finished his food??? He acted as though he didn't have a clue and there'd be a different bus coming, I'm guessing he knew it was him all along. I was quite irritated, but my mom was really hot over that one.

Ok, rant over!!

We made it with plenty of time to spare and had to wiat outside even before they were ready to let us in. Poor Jake, every few minutes he'd feel sick and we'd have to run him over to the grass to be sick, but he was so funny about it, he'd get sick and the second it was over it's like you flipped a switch and he was like "Look, it's a squirrel" and run after it. LOL

Right at 8 we were let into the park and got seated almost immediately at Crystal Palace. It's funny how you can go from sick to the happiest kid ever when he spotted Piglet coming our way. ;)

The food was really good and luckily Dan and Karen liked this meal. Dan loved it because it was a buffet and he could get as much as he wanted, which was good for the kids too because I think Bekah ate he weight in bacon and honeydew!!! She was making up for the fact that Jake didn't feel like eating anything at all. I know this isn't a food report, but just on a quick note he found the most amazing thing over on the kids' section of the buffet of all places. I have no idea what it was called, but it was like a cinnamon toast donut. Oh my goodness it was heavenly!!!! I suggest everyone try one next time you're there, YUM!!!!

I snapped this pic as we were waiting, I love how the castle looks with no one around and the sun just coming up on it.

Origianlly I had planned on us being out of there by 9 so we'd be ready to run to Fantasyland right when the park opened, but I gave up that idea when it was 8:55 and Eeyore still hadn't gotten to us. I decided it was better to let the kids have fun with the characters than to push my schedule. I just kept repeating "flexible" to myself over and over.....I'm trying to learn to be more flexible. I'm glad I did or I would have missed this cute picture.

scan0025.jpg

After we paid and left it was about 9:15. Jake decided he was feeling better by then and wanted to stay so I told everyone we were going straight to Dumbo and then Peter Pan because those two get the longest lines. On the way however the kids saw the Snow White ride and wanted to do it since there was no wait so we did. That was actually my first time riding it too. So then it was on to Dumbo right? Nope! Karen started demanding we ride the carousel. Now I was okay with the kids changing the schedule, but she was the one acting like a big kid. Oh well, everyone can be a kid at disney right? So next it was on to the carousel. I have no idea why I didn't take a picture, but I guess I didn't. Can I just say wow that's a short ride. Finally we made it over to Dumbo. We were a little nervous for Jake to ride, but he insisted that it wouldn't make him sick so me, Karen, and the kids got in line. Mom and Dan waited for us . By this point the line was already 20 minutes. Oh well.....we hopped in line and Bekah picked me to ride with so off we went on our elephant flight!! I felt bad for Jake since Karen was scared and wouldn't let him go up in the air hardly at all. It still turned out to be his favorite ride!!! I hadn't ridden since I was 9 years old and forgot just how much I loved it as well. Bekah and I took our elephant all the way up as high as it would go.

After this I believe we stopped to get some water....it was already getting pretty warm and also karen and dan wanted to call home to check on the house and animals and the chickens. If you've read my PTR you'll understand that one. By that point Peter Pan had a 30 minute wait and Karen didn't want to wait or get a FP for whatever reason so we went on to do Mickey's Philharmagic. I did this one for the first time last year and LOVED it so I was excited for everyone else to see it. It turned out to be a favorite for us all, although when the first thing came spinning out of the screen toward us Jake jumped and threw his 3-D glasses about four rows in front of us. Haha Thankfully there was a nice lady who saw them and handed them back to us.

Our last adventure in Fantasyland for the morning was The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh...also the first time for me riding it as well. It worked out because there was no line and we walked right on.

scan0042b.jpg

By this point the crowds were starting to really file into FAntasyland so we decided to head toward Mickey's Toon Town Fair. Stay tuned for the next update and all the wonderful characters we met there.

Hey guys, I was gonna apologize for the delay and let you know that the next update will be coming up this afternoon, but I see no one has said anything on the last one so I guess I wasn't too missed. lol :lmao:

Our MK afternoon will be up soon.

I read the last update but forgot to post so I'll do it now. It certainly looks like ya'll had a wonderful breakfast despite the fact that Jake hadn't been feeling well earlier. Poor thing...who wants to be sick at WDW?

Even though you didn't get to go to Dumbo first thing, you didn't have to wait too terribly long when you did make it over there.

I had to laugh when you said Jake threw his 3D glasses during Mickey's Philarmagic. What a great vacation memory!

I didn't mean for you to comment just because I said that, I"m sorry. I really was just teasing you guys. Thank you though for your kind comments, I appreciate it. Jake was hilarious when he threw the glasses. He told us later he thought it was real and coming out after him!! LOL We went back to see it a second time and he knew it wasn't real this time, but he still kept reaching out trying to grab at things, it was so cute.

On to toonTown!!!!

After our morning in Fantasyland we then headed to Mickey's Toon Town Fair stopping for a minute to take a quick picture. I'm sure you've noticed by this point there are very few pics with me and my mom in them. I was the designated picture taker and my mom hates being in pics. Even the photopass pics I chose to pass on this time so we could get good shots of the kids and the kids with Dan and Karen so we could make a scrapbook for them since this was their first real family vacation.

IMG_3240.jpg

Our first stop was Mickey and Minnie's houses. Bekah especially thought those were really neat and kept asking me if Mickey and Minnie really lived there. Jake just wanted to hurry on through and get to the next thing, but the rest of us were enjoying it. I didn't get hardly any pics since we were trying to keep up with him in Minnie's house which he had no interest in and Mickey's house was really crowded. I did however get this one.

scan0043.jpg

Afterwards it was time for the princesses!!!! We walked up and there was only a five minute wait for the princesses so of course we jumped at that. WE ended up getting the meet Aurora, Cinderella, and Belle, which I was SO glad Belle was there since Beauty and the Beast is BEkah's most recent favorite movie. Sleeping Beauty was up first and Bekah just adored her and told us several times "what a lovely voice she had." I thought that was sweet. She was right though, Aurora did have a really soft lovely voice, she was very much the princess type and was fantastic with the kids.

Photo0021FourBySix.jpg

Next was Cinderella...she was also very sweet. The princesses turned out to be the best character interactions we had all week. She asked the kids what their favorite rides were and Jake of course said Dumbo and when Bekah answered roller coasters she made a big deal over how brave Bekah was and how her little mouse friends Jauque (sp?) and Gus Gus want to ride those big rides, but they're way under the height requirement so they can't. lol It was so cute. Jake came out of that meeting talking about how pretty she was....I think he had a crush. :-)

Last but not least was Belle. She told them about how sometimes Cinderealla invites all of the princesses over to her beautiful castle and they all have a sleepover. Bekah thought this was just the neatest thing and talked about it all week. She also asked the kids if they helped out and cleaned their rooms at home and Bekah pointed out how she does, but Jake is very messy. LOL Belle then teased him a bit about being as messy as her Beast is. Jake was embarrassed a bit, but also thought it was funny. On a side note and this is just my own opinion but I think Belle could have used a touch less makeup. Haha

Continuing in the next post because of the amount of pictures.....

Great TR! We are staying at Pop in December. I have stayed there before, but it was several years ago, when it first opened, so it is nice to read about it.

I am skeptical of the MSEP. I have never seen it. I know some people on here really love it, but it seems as though people like it mostly for nostalgic reasons. Having never seen it, it holds no nostalgic value for me. I loved SpectroMagic. Even the music of SpectroMagic sounds magical. The music for MSEP sounds like a circus. We are going to watch it in December, but I suspect I am going to feel the same as you about it.

I really like your pictures of the fall decorations at MK. Can't wait to hear more!

Oh I didn't take it that way at all! I just realized that I hadn't commented when I meant to. I'm really bad about reading posts and forgetting to post my thoughts.:rolleyes1

It was really sweet of you and your mom to think ahead about scrapbooking pictures. I am the designated picture taker too and am hardly ever in any pictures.

I can't believe that there was only a 5 minute wait for the princesses. You were really lucky! I like it when the characters interact with the guests. It makes for such great memories.

As we were leaving my mom and aunt were talking about how neat it was having that one on one time with them like that and one of the CM said that the fairies were the same way and that at that time their line was just a little longer, but still pretty short. So instead of 5 minutes it turned out to only be 15. Not bad right? Bekah was begging to meet the fairies, but does she get to? NOPE!! We were all for it since this trip was for the kids and letting them do what they wanted, but Karen said they'd just met three characters and didnt' want to wait in line for more especially when she didn't know who any of the fairies were other than Tinkerbell. Since I said I was also including the bad along with the good in this report I will bluntly say that this annoyed the heck out of me. It was only 15 minutes and Bekah and Jake know who the others are and they wanted to meet them so why didn't we??? It still doesn't make sense. Ok, rant over now

We did, however, walk over to the Judge's tent and disovered there was NO wait for Mickey and Minnie so thankfully she did agree to do that since they were the main two characters of Disney obviously. This was another fun interaction. After several hugs and kisses and photos there was a point when Mickey and Minnie took Jake and Bekah by the hand and led them to the area where they stand and then they came and linked arms with me and my mom and started to walk out the door with us. The kids were confused and tried to follw, but Minnie put them back over there. We all started laughing and explained to the kids that since they had Mickey and Minnie ears on the real Mickey and Minnie wanted them to fill in for them meeting other families while they took a break and came with us out into the park to play. That was priceless and I really wish the Photopass guy had snapped some pics of this happening. Mickey also started hanging onto my mom and kissing her and Minnie got REALLY jealous!!!! LOL

Photo0044FourBySix.jpg

I love that even though you can't really see his face you can see what a big smile Jake has on his face as he ran into Mickey's waiting arms.

awww too swweet!

After meeting with the Big Cheese we went and took a spin on the Railroad. Jake had been wanting to ride a train so bad so we made a complete lap around the park which was really fun. In the process the kids saw the speedway cars and decided they HAD to do that. After the train we headed to Tomorrowland and while Karen and Dan took the kids on the speedway ride Mom and I went and got fastpasses for all of us for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Our time was only twenty minutes later due to the low crowds that day so after meeting back up with them and stopping for a snack and some water we went right into the ride. I thought my mom and Karen would hate it since it spins, but they didn't, they both loved it!!! Bekah liked it although she couldn't quite get the hang of shooting the gun and was getting discouraged so I just started spinning our car around over and over which made her happy and forget about the scoring points part. In the end we ended up with....

Bekah - 300
Jake - 1400
Mom - 2400
Karen - 4000
Dan - 34,100
Me - 34,200

I love that I beat Dan by just a hundred points! since the line was so short we jumped right back in line and did it again, but I don't remember the points from the second time. Next Bekah desperately wanted to ride Space Mountain, but Karen said no and absolutely refused. Her reason for this was because mom told her how you sit in front of each other and not side by side so she was worried that since I couldn't sit right next to Bekah that she'd somehow go flying out of the ride or that she'd panic and somehow jump out. Now first off nothing was gonna scare that little girl, she's fearless. And second the height requirement is 44 inches and she is 47.5. The lap bar would hold her in just fine and Karen was just being over protective in my mind, but oh well, it was her call, but it sure made Bekah upset. Ok, second rant over.

By now we noticed the time and knew we needed to head out of the park to make our dinner reservation over at HS so we started that way and stopped just long enough to get a few Photopass pics taken in front of the castle and to take a few of our own.

Just as we were leaving we saw Daisy and Pluto at the front of the aprk. Daisy had a really long line, but Pluto's was only a couple people so the kids hopped in line before Karen could even say no. LOL

So cute, wish he wasn't squinting into the sun, but still adorable!!!

Stay tuned everyone, up next is our night at HS.

What is with Belle's face here? Is this Stepford Wife Belle?

No kidding!! I have no idea what that was about....her makeup.....her expression.....all of it. She was as sweet as can be with the kids and did look a bit better in person, but WOW, never seen that side of her before.

Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Keep reading along and you'll get to see tons more pics from around Pop coming up.

I really do hope you enjoy MSEP, it just wasn't for me. It's not that I HATED it, just not my thing. I agree that I think people are liking the nostalgia of it as well. My mom said she remembers seeing it when we were there when I was a kid, but I don't remember so for me all I know is SpectroMagic and it's just so magical for me. The floats, the lights, the music, everything is so much better and MSEP does sound a bit like a circus and well.......just a parade.

Oh I didn't take it that way at all! I just realized that I hadn't commented when I meant to. I'm really bad about reading posts and forgetting to post my thoughts.:rolleyes1

That's okay, I have the exact same problem with everyone else's TRs.

I know what you mean, that's why it was so weird for me on our honeymoon last year when we got TONS of photopass pics with DH and I plus a ton of people kept offering to take our pics. I was in so many pics I actually looked like I was there on the trip for once. LOL

5 minutes was absolutely crazy, I couldn't believe our luck!! That day was just extremely deserted at MK. I know it was a halloween party night and they say the regular crowd levels are lower those days, but I didn't think it would be that low, it was fantastic!! And since there were so few people waiting they really took their time with the kids talking and taking tons of pics and didn't rush us out too quickly. I personally LOVE the characters and make it my mission to get as many pics as possible, but for my aunt it seemed she'd go for a couple, but then seemed to think it was wasting too much time when we could be doing rides or shows. She was the same way with stores and shopping. I know it was because they had so few days and so much to see and I can kinda understand the stores a bit more , but the characters.....they ARE Disney for me.

I love the picture with Mickey and Minnie! Sounds like you are having a blast :goodvibes

Thanks! I love that one too!! The first two days especially were fantastic...not that it changed too much after that, but you'll see. It was a great trip though. Next update should hopefully be sometime today or tomorrow.
