You da man Roger!!! I noticed you made Matt as a little devil, how appropriate!!! LOL

I am going to find some dark shirt iron on transfers tomorrow, and maybe even have it ready for Erica's birthday on Sunday!!

I sure hope I get to buy you a cold one next month to repay you!!! ;)

Hey,I will make the background black for you so its easier to cut out for a tshirt.....hold on........

Soon Roger will be the only source of Ft Wilderness logo merchandise.

Thanks Rog you rock. Is it easier to do a t-shirt with the black background or will it work with the white?

You rock Rog, thank you sir. Go over to the community board and check out my post about our chances, looks like I will be drowning some wormies with ya after all!!! :woohoo:

Lorna....it completely depends on what color shirt youre planning to iron it onto. If your using white shirts....then a white background is ideal...when you print these, you should try to trim the mickeyhead as close as possible to make them look as good as they can look, but your not going to be able to trim it PERFECTLY...their will be some margin of the background remaining...if that margin is black, and its going on a black shirt, the margin is essentially unnoticable....if the margin is white and going on a white shirt, again...you'll barely notice it...but if you try to do a white margin on a black shirt...and your trimming isnt as steady as a machine cut decal/iron-on...it will look homemade.

I personally leave a 1/8" contrasting margin, but I have a very steady hand and have been doing this kind of stuff all my life as a hobby....to me, a white margin on a black shirt gives the image some depth.

If you intend to use black shirts, let me know, and I'll redo your image with a black background..it will only take me a few minutes and I dont mind helping a friend out!!

JOHN
Thats great news...now I just hope things dont get even a little bit worse for me and I dont have to do any last minute cancelling...Ive already paid for my park tickets and would hate to have to sacrifice them. Im pretty sure were going to have to cancel our ADRs for Cinderella's Table, thats a $200 meal I can survive without!!! I mean, the place is beautiful and the food is really good...but a $.59 hot dog from wally word is just as filling!!! Im not giving up yet though...If I go down...it will be swinging!!!

Rog, I just brought some black shirts. I went to Joanns and found the iron on transfer paper, but it was 3 for $8.99 I am going to look around and see if I can do better. But the shirts were $2 each.
I didn't realize that there is chance that you might have to cancel -- you can't do that we all need to meet you.

Lorna, you dont wanna go too cheap on the transfer sheets, but you may be able to get a better per sheet price if you can find it in packs of 10.I always end up screwing one or two sheets up for one reason or another...so the more sheets you have the better off you'll be...I usually order 25 pc packs from www.coastalbusiness.com, that way if I get a wild hare for a quick project,I have paper here waiting to be used. And 2.99 for shirts is a GREAT price!!!!

~~ETA~~ I just checked and coastal has stopped selling the 25pc packs, but they do sell 50 piece packs....it works out to well less than a dollar per sheet. I also noticed a NEW product called GLO-JO, its GLOW IN THE DARK transfer paper...I bet these would look AWESOME as glow in the dark iron ons!!!

Ooohhh yeah....and Im just setting into PANIC MODE...the trip is getting closer, and Im getting those "WHAT IF" butterflies....Im sure we'll make the trip...and thanks, I cant wait to meet you guys either!!

Hey Rog...just wanted to say cool work! Only one thing that I have noticed is that the "r" is missing in friends (Fort Friends)....
Just thought I'd catch that early for you so you don't wind up redoing numerous requests...
:)

Not a typo -it's intentional.

Rog Thanks again. I went to the web site you gave me for transfer paper and I am not sure which one. I know you have said use the dark is this the one you use?
Coastal Inkjet Opaque Transfer Paper - 8 1/2" x 11" - For darks (50 sheets)
how are their shipping prices? I think it's a great idea, by the time I buy them from the store here and spend $8.99 for 3 it is much more expensive.
By the way, I brought the shirts @ Michaels and they were 5 for $10 which came out to $2 ea. I also brought 8 and they only charged $2 for the others. I have to go back and get more, if I want to do them for the whole family I think I need another 8, not turning out to be a cheep deal, by the time I get done I could pay for 2 nights camping.

Thats the one I use..."inkjet opaque".

Most printers have an option to choose "transfer paper"...DONT USE THIS OPTION, it will print backwards if you do. I use the "matte photo paper" option becaus it has good color results and you dont have to flip your design before printing....learning this kind of stuff is why its always good to have a few extra pages laying around...to learn from and correct any mistakes, and god knows Ive made a ton of mistakes!!

As far as their shipping costs,I dont remember exactly, but I get furious when I am over charged for shipping(a big pet peave of mine when shopping on the web), so I can safely say that their shipping is very fair or I would definately remember getting pissed about it!!!

LOL...yes, you're right....this does get pretty costly AND time consuming....and by the time you add in the price of the printer ink(the most expensive fluid on the planet!!!) that your printer will go through for 16 designs....you quickly realize that you havent saved a whole lot of money by doing it yourself. But you do get the pride of handing a shirt to your family members and telling them that YOU made them......well, "I" do, anyway. When I take my time, and do the best job that I can on each one as far as trimming close and evenly, it just makes me feel good to know that I made a professional looking product that the entire family will put to good use! But Im weird like that!:)
