I have a question about the Mickey ear hats...is there any place at the DLR that does the name in a different font other the script? My understanding is that at WDW you can have different styles of fonts and colored thread. I was just curious if the DLR offered the same :confused3 , does any one know if it is possible and where it can be done at? Cost isn't really an issue; we're willing to pay if we have too.

I've never seen anyone who had their ears stitched with any other font.
I haven't been since January though, so maybe they do. That would be
cool if they did !!! I'd totally pay for it :)

They have started to do that but they only sell them at the shop in Toon Town. It's pretty neat from the pictures I've seen, you are able to choose what color base, ears, and font you would like. Of course the embroidery is not free if it is not the standard font and the create-your-own ears costs more than an ordinary ears.

The cost is about the same as the WDW version—bases are $5 and $6 each, depending on style, and ears run $2.50 to $3.50 each—but the biggest difference is in the embroidery. Walt Disney World charges $3 to add a name to the hat, but Disneyland wants $7 per line. This is especially puzzling since Disneyland embroiders a name on most regular ear hats at no charge, while WDW tacks on $3 for the service. Some frugal customers have tried to take their Build-an-Ear hat to another Disneyland hat shop to get the name embroidered for free, but cast members have been instructed that they may not embroider the Build-an-Ear bases—you may find a cast member willing to bend the rules, but the official policy is "no."

If you do spring for the $7 embroidery, you have your choice of six thread colors and two letter styles, "Fun" or "Script." You can also embroider both the front and the back of the hat if you wish, perhaps adding "Happy Birthday" to the front of a hat and personalizing the back with a name.

This is from mouseplanet.... HTH!

We were there the 1st week in June. They did the different color threads and fonts at the shop in Toon Town. It was seven dollars extra. The only ones that are free is gold or black thread in script writing. I know they had hot pink, blue, green, maybe a purple...Anyway...hope this helps!

Thank you everyone for your help...My sister was planning on doing the myo ears for her boys, so knowing that we can do the colored thread and different fonts there is good enough. :yay: Thanks again everyone!

FYI....they also do embroidery a shop on mainstreet. it's kitty corner from the mad hatter. they have different thread colors and fonts available. in october i had my name put in black on some pumpkin ears. they actually embroider most any item, it just costs you.

Do they have more than two fonts ? Or is it the same as the other store ?

We bought some pink minnie ears for my 3 yr old and had the main street shop use dark Pink embroidery to say "Big Sis '08".
(thats how we told family we were expecting..)
They said they can do pretty much anything you buy there. Just have your receipt to show that you bought the shirt/hat at DL.
I think it was only $7 or around there.

They had about 7/8 fonts and different colors.
