How much do Mickey ears cost in WDW? Do you pay extra to add the name?

Everything in Disney is more expensive than you would expect.

I think we paid $10 for DD4. We didn't get her name added...I'm sure that would have been more. Not sure where to do this. They weren't doing it at the place where we purchased the ears.

go to the Mad Hatters shop at MK...it's to the right just before you step onto mainstreet. They do the names there. I can't remember if the name embroidery is more or not, but it's a neat memory!!!

Embrodiery is free on any Disney hat. You can even get it for free on a Disney hat you bring from home, as long as it says Disney on the tag. This is what I have heard everywhere.

Embroidery is no longer free. They did away with it over a year ago.

There are many different versions of Mickey Ears and tons of different hats. They cost different amounts. The basic black Mickey Ears run around $8. Some of the ears are around $17.

Basic embroidery (the loose single thread loopy type done by the CM moving the hat through the sewing machine by hand) is $2 to $3 per hat. It's been a couple of months since I checked. The fancy embroidery done by machine where you can pick the font and thread color is about $7 per hat.

The basic embroidery is available at Le Chapeau an Sir Mickey at MK. The fine embroidery is available at Days Of Christmas at DTD and Celebrity 5 & 10 at MGM.
