Do people wear the chin strap to keep the ears on? just curious. I can use hairpins but my grandson has very short hair and nothing to hold the ears except the strap?
I have only needed the chin strap for my glow ears.. everything else was light enough for pins I kinda felt like a dork wearing the chin strap but I really wanted to wear my glow ears in DL (before they were available in WDW)
As an adult, no I don't use the chin strap - but I could see kids needing it to help stay on. I'm extra cautious of it though because it does seem like it could fly off easy.
I do use the chin strap, but I put it behind my head under my hair so it keeps my hair back and keeps it on my head. Obviously, if you don't have long hair that's not going to help. My husband uses the strap on some ears and doesn't need it on others, it all depends on how they fit.
I always use the chin strap, and I put the string behind my ears. I know some people keep it in front of their ears.
They've stayed on every ride I've went on, even BTMRR. Although admittedly I didn't wear them on Space Mountain or Splash Mountain, and I took them off on Star Tours to be courteous, but they'd stay on I'm sure.
I don't ride ToT, RNRC or EE so I can't comment on any of those rides.
When I do wear Mickey ears I usually use the chin strap and keep it in front of my ears. With my short hair there is no point in me hiding it behind my ears and it is less comfortable with the shape of my head like that.
With so many people wearing Mickey ears there is really no wrong or weird way to wear it because there are so many different ways people do it.

This is exactly what I do. I have a habit of turning my head just the right way so that my ears fly off every time if I don't wear the strap in some way.
