I have found a new obcession.......Mickey Crystals. I had seen on here where someone told how to do them so I finally got the stuff I needed and started "practicing" with the color beads I won't need for DD's Wedding, here is how they look......

This is what I want my "JOB" to be making fun things like this for weddings......All the things I have made so far have been so easy and fun to do what will I do when I run out of things to make??????

Cute, what size bead did you use? I'm going to make my DD's FG bouquet for my upcoming DCL wedding and I'm going to incorporate those into her flowers.

Thanks

The bags of beads I bought say this on them......Fun with Beads, I got one bag of clear and a bag that had multiple colors in the bag. I got them at Wal Mart. It says the sizes included are 6mm and 8mm. Have fun with them if you do make them just watch for the sharp ends on the wire I am sporting a couple bandaids right now from getting poked.....

Those are the beads I used, when I made mine, but I used the clear and the faceted beads.....have fun! I added them to the bouquets too. :goodvibes

I have the faceted Beads also it seems to make them a bit shinnier, I am loving them.....

after I made the mickey crystals for the bouquets, I made these mickey silhouettes with the remaining beads and added them to the bouquet holders(this one is on the ribbon, others are on the base) for alittle more sparkle....good luck with all your plans.:goodvibes

TOO CUTE did you use one piece of wire to make those? I do believe it is an unwritten rule that if you show us something so cute youalso have to add a bit of direction on how you did it....lol....PLEASE:goodvibes

Yes I just used one piece of wire.... I will post more later. I used either all small beads or all large beads for each silhouette shape.:goodvibes

Can someone direct me to the thread that tells how to do this? I probably could figure it out. i'm just really curious though!:goodvibes

I don't know if the directions you are looking for are what I posted or not, but to make the ones I did I used a piece of wire( no specific length- just enough to work with and extra to attach to floral etc). bend to make a v shape, twist the wire around itself up about a third of the way(give or take) added the larger bead, twisted the wire up around the sides of that bead and then twisted together at top making another v then add one smaller bead to each side of the v securing around bead and then to larger bead to shape the ears. if excess just cut it off...have fun and good luck! They are really very simple to make.:goodvibes

I used one piece of wire made a hook( bend) in the end so the beads wouldn't drop off then strung 11 beads either small or large onto wire then made a loop/circle with bent section and twisted back around to secure making a circle shape with remaining wire sticking out. next added 7 of the same sized beads and made smaller circle by twisting wire together and then securing to larger circle. took remaining wire and wrapped through circle once or twice(between beads) then added 7 more beads(same size) and shaped second ear once secured to circle cut excess. I have two large bead between each ear and probably the same for the smaller beads. The wire I used was very thin floral gauge wire from walmart. the beads came from there as well.have fun and good luck! :goodvibes

here is a pic of the a mickey silhouette made using the larger beads....

i adore these...i've been searching for rhinestone buckles to use on lindsay's menus and they are expensive (ok, so only $1 apiece, but when you need 100 and they'll just get thrown away...), i'm hoping she'll let me do something like this...thanks for posting, these are great!

hey it looks great! I like to color! I never thought of using them on menus, may have to try that too!(another project idea....) I used the mickey crystals in bouquets and centerpieces and then used the mickey silhouettes on the bouquet handles and votive.:goodvibes

how did you attach the silhouettes to the ribbon? i figure i'll just leave enough wire and just wrap it around...i think i'm going to do her menus similar to mine...

except i'm going to use black ribbon and pink mickey silhouettes instead of the beaded wire i used on mine...

Caryn, That's exactly what I did. I left enough excess wire to connect behind large circle(either side to side or top to bottom) twisted together and then slid the ribbon through (over the wire ,under the beads). the ribbon covers the wire. :goodvibes
