I get the feeling from all of the youtube reactions that every one likes the ride, but it might not be exactly what they thought it was going to be. I feel like most that reviewed were very happy with ride, but it seemed like there was always a but, but didn't want to elaborate. Is it possible, with all the Disney hype, that most thought it wan't going to be a ride aimed at such a young crowd. My thoughts are maybe this ride would have bee better suited for Fantasy Land in the Magic Kingdom. The Chinese theater is such a prime location and you went from a ride that appealed to a Adults and kids to a ride that is really aimed at the 12 and under crowd. This is not a slight on the ride but maybe the location is incorrect.
Curious to know what everyone else thinks.

I haven't ridden yet but I believe this ride is aimed at everyone not just kids. This type of ride is something DHS severely lacked. They needed a non-height requirement ride. I think this looks like something that better appeals to everyone than Great Movie Ride. I know for myself when I was young I certainly wasn't trying to ride GMR all the time.

I think the location is excellent. We are supposed to be experiencing a premier of the movie (Perfect Picnic). What better place to have a movie premier than the vintage and notorious Chinese Theater? I can't give spoilers, but there is plenty of nostalgic feel once you enter the building.

So that's my opinion after being there and riding on opening day.

ETA: I also think this is the best attraction on property (haven't ridden RotR yet).

I am certain that thanks to my special needs 12 year old I have the entire ride video memorized because it is played over and over and over and over and over at least 5 times a day in my house while she happily giggles. I have a feeling that if we could make a trip I had better have the other 2 Fast Passes booked for the first hour in the park whatever I choose (more in likely with her something in Toy Story Land) because once we get off it she is going to keep signning more more more as we get in the standby line to go again while waiting for a fastpass to come up. And then on days we were planning other parks I have a feeling she would not be happy unless we rope dropped and she got at least one ride before letting us go. The only things that might keep this at bay are character meets with Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Mickey. Photo0079FourBySix.jpgPhoto0352FourBySix.jpg

I think the problem lately is that Disney has been over promising and under delivering. Given the length of time it took to open, and the way they described it, it seems like people may have been expecting more. I think Disney would be better off not hyping their rides to temper expectations. I wasn't a big GMR fan, so I don't mind this ride and think it fits well into the park. I'm looking forward to riding it on the next trip.

Their last two attractions I think have over delivered. Rise of the Resistance by far lived up to the hype. It opened roughly on time too.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway was delayed but at the same time is getting a lot of praise.

I rode the ride last week and loved it! Also went on the big Star Wars ride I didn’t think it was such a big deal but I’m not a Star Wars fan. I would rather ride Mickey and Minnie’s ride.

It looks like a very fun ride. My only concern is that Disney is increasingly relying on video projection and moving farther away from the Audio Animatronics that they did so very well.
