We are flying in tomorrow for our 5 night Disneyland trip (yay!) and we want to bring our 2 year old to see Cars Land tomorrow when we arrive, but I have a feeling he will also be asking for Mickey and Minnie...so is there a place to meet them at DCA? Are they usually around in the early evening...say around 5 or 6? Or would we need to head to Disneyland to meet them?

Thanks!

Mickey is usually on Buena Vista St, but 4:30-5pm is about when characters stop doing greets outside for the day. Also on BVS Goofy and Pluto trade off and Chip and Dale are frequently out, but not by 6pm. Your best bet for characters at night would be Goofy's Kitchen for dinner.

We've only seen Mickey on Buena Vista street as late as early afternoon, but he is wearing a great 1920's outfit so it would be worth it to come back on a later day to see him.

Also, when we were there in August, "Fly Girl" Minnie was doing a M&G in front of the plane in Condor Flats next to Soarin'. It's Minnie in a sort of flight attendant/captain outfit that she wore when they did the "Minnie's Fly Girls" show about a year or so ago.

Again, not at night, but worth a come back trip for sure!

Thanks so much! Our flight arrives at LAX around 1 and we have a car picking us up, so I have hopes that we will be checked in to the hotel and in the parks by 4, but maybe we will still miss Mickey-not a huge deal since we have 4 more days. Is Mickey out later at Disneyland? We could give our son a choice between Cars and Mickey.

I have encountered meet and greets in the evenings several times. I have pics with Mickey in DCA around 7-8pm. Same in Disneyland. Later in the evening is usually when you find Mickey and Minnie in Town Square together. (eta:that's not a guaranteed thing but later in the evening is the only time I've happened upon them together) Is the 4-5pm a relatively new thing? Like in the last month or so?

OP, when my kids were younger we always knew we could go to Toontown for a guaranteed Mickey meet and greet. Those do end earlier in the day. We always arrive in the later afternoon so kind of prepped them before the trip that we'd see Mickey on the second day. You will find Mickey & Minnie out and about in Town Square quite frequently during the day and have many opportunities to see them.

The time listed for Mickey's house is "Toontown hours." So if there's fireworks on the night you arrive, it will close 1 hour before those start. Personally, I'd rush to Carsland and try to meet Mater or Lightning while they're still out, since you'll be doing Cars that day.
