If you are coming off the 5 on Disneyland drive. Take the fly over, look for the green arrows on the left. It takes you over Ball Dr and eliminates the stop light. This will take you directly to M and F's. If the flyover is closed your out of luck. They usually have it open toward the parking lot early in the day, opposite in the afternoon.
Yes, on crazy busy days they will fill remote lots first, but the express overpass is usually open so that is the best way to bypass getting routed to other lots
If you come in off of Ball they often reroute you to another lot because the lines at the toll booths are long and they dont want the traffic backing up onto Ball. As said above, usually you can take the overpass and get into the lot in the morning
You'd have to pass the resort and double back. Probably not worth it because it can also be closed. If you're worried about being diverted, you might be beter off heading straight for Toy Story lot to save time.
What I have done in the past if you are being deverted is to turn right at the street to the DTD parking lot, pass its entrance then turn right at the T. You are now heading back toward the 5. Go past Ball Rd toward the frontage road. Turn right and that puts you back on Disneyland Dr. Stay in the left lane and look for the bypass. Sounds long but it really isn't bad. Shorter than going all the way to TS.
Here are my direction to get to M & F's parking lot from the south taken from another thread:
If you are coming from San Diego and you want to get to the Mickey and Friends parking lot, you will need to do a lot of surface street driving. That parking structure on busy days is usually only open to people coming from the north.
So what you have to do is get off on Harbor Blvd., not Disney Way. Turn right on Harbor, then left on Ball Rd. DO NOT turn left on Disneyland Drive even though it tells you to. You will get redirected by the Anaheim police department past DLH and all the way over to the Toy Story lots eventually, negating everything you've done so far and chewing up a lot of time. You have to turn right on Disneyland Drive, then make a U-turn at your earliest opportunity. You will pass the offramp for the I-5 North on the right. Once you make the U-turn, and head south on Disneyland Drive, you will be able to access the flyover bridge to the left that the southbound I-5 traffic gets to use and you will make your way to the Mickey and Friends parking structure. If you miss the flyover bridge, do not continue south on Disneyland Drive as you will get caught up in that Anaheim PD redirection. Just circle back at Ball Rd. and try again.
