DS2, Lincoln, 5, doesn't want to go in any deep water

Day 6 Wed 7 Feb.
Weather is due to be much hotter today, around 75, with lots of sunshine. Glad we didn't have to change our itinerary!:cool2:

We try Golden Corral for breakfast this morning, we are amazed at the huge variety on offer. We make the mistake of sitting near the bakery where it is quite warm. On the way out we find the next room has air con! We eat our fill including some yummy cookies.

We arrive at Blizzard Beach around 10.45am and set up base on the beach. We explore the wave pool then DS2 and I go to Tikes Peak to see what is on offer over there. DH and DS1 go off in search of bigger thrills. DS2 has a go on all the 'baby' slides and enjoys himself. We then go and check out the Snow Patrol Training Camp, which is aimed at older children. DS2 is very brave and struggles up the hill with a huge raft (he calls it a doughnut!) and comes down the raft ride at a fair pace! The water is a bit colder here so I think he gets a bit of a shock! We then spot DH and DS1 on the lazy river.

We then have a rest on the beach, which has now been invaded by a party of South American teenagers (cheerleaders?) which spoils the peace a little. We go off in search of ice cream for DS2 and sit by the main restaurant to eat it. We chat to an American family about the blizzards sweeping the rest of the country and they laugh at DS2 obviously enjoying his ice cream and getting it all over his face! We are still too full from breakfast to consider lunch. DH and I leave the boys on the beach to go on the family raft ride, phew! that's a steep walk to the top! Good view though, and we love the ride! DS1 enjoys playing in the waves and DS2 revisits Tikes Peak and has fun with the squirting water fountains. We leave around 4pm and enquire at Guest Relations about our forgotten back left in a locker at MK last night. They tell us that it should be at Lost and Found at the TTC.

Back to the villa to change and we then drive to Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we have a 6.30pm ADR for dinner at Boma. We admire the lobby and walk downstairs to the restaurant, where we check in and are given a buzzer. We expore the pool area and look out to see if we can spot any animals. We are just considering whether to buy a drink from the bar when our buzzer goes off so we return to the restaurant.

We are shown to our table in this very exotic restaurant and the waiter explains what the dishes are. I order the red wine flight, which is OK but nothing special. We enjoy the salads, soups and main courses on offer. The boys easily find enough things they like, DS2 especially likes the wood-roasted chicken. Most of the Americans seem to head for the Prime Rib and form a long queue just for that.
Extremely full, we make our way back to the car and home. Maybe 2 buffet meals in one day is not a good idea!:rolleyes1

Tomorrow: Epcot!!!

Michelle, good report, just enough info and some good idea's on places to eat. Shame that the weather was a little cool. When we booked our holiday it was either February or April. Getting more excited than ever when we read all the trip reports, keep up the good work.

Cath:thumbsup2

Boma sounds lovely
another great day
Thanks

Great report.

We loved Boma as well, funny how all those people book an African restaurant and then eat American.

Sounds like a wonderful day
