Day 2 Sat 3rd Feb
We are up early again and make our way into Disney to the Magic Kingdom. We have a reservation at Crystal Palace at 8.05 am. We underestimate the time it takes to get to the park so we are running a few minutes late. We take the resort monorail and enjoy seeing all the hotels. Today the weather is a bit cooler with showers. We get to the Magic Kingdom and savour our walk along Main St. We check in at Crystal Palace and wait maybe 5 mins before our name is called.
We have a lovely table by the window and enjoy coffee and orange juice. I have a smoked salmon bagel, some fruit and a cooked breakfast, the boys have pancakes, toast and sausages. The food here is very good and it's nice to be in the park early. We meet Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger and the boys get lots of hugs.
The boys are dressed up today, Kenton as a cowboy and Lincoln as Red Ranger. They get lots of comments as we go round the park. First we head for Tomorrowland as this is where Buzz is. This is DS2's favourite ride from Paris so we have to do this first. We walk straight on to Buzz, then go to Stitch's Great Escape. DS2 is a bit worried by this but is OK. We then do Buzz again, get some FastPasses for Buzz and Space Mountain, and then ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. It is fun seeing inside the other rides and a good view of the Castle. the Park is getting much busier now.
We then walk to Fantasyland, past the Speedway which is closed for refurbishment. We get FastPasses for Peter Pan (40 min wait) and then go on It's A Small World, another of DS2's favourites. We then see the Mickey's Phiharmagic film which is really good.
We return to Tomorrowland as it's time for Space Mountain, I take DS1 on while DH and DS2 go zap some more aliens on Buzz (using FPs). DS1 makes me go in front and I'm a bit scared but it's OK, nice star effects and not too fast. We explore the space themed shop.
We head back to Fantasyland and go on Peter Pan, there is something very magical about this ride and we come off grinning. We decide to have lunch at Columbia Harbour House where we encounter long queues and lots of mistakes in our order. Nice food though, we share a tuna sandwich, boys are not impressed by the MacnCheese. DH goes to get FPs for Big Thunder while I was queuing.
After lunch we take a ride on the Libery Belle Riverboat which is nice and relaxing. 50 min wait for Haunted Mansion so we give it a miss. We take turns to go on Big Thunder using FPs with DS1 while DS2 gets a cookie ice cream sandwich. I thought the Paris version of Big Thunder was faster but still good fun. The weather is still quite damp so noone is inclined to try Splash Mountain. It is parade time but we decide we haven't got time to get a good spot so we skip it today.
We ride the railroad round to Main St where we do catch the end of the parade, then we explore the Emporium. We buy a Jack Sparrow pirate outfit for Kenton, a Stitch t shirt for Lincoln and a Grumpy t shirt for DH! We then follow a marching band up Main St and explote Mickey's Toontown Fair. DS1 wants to go on the kiddie rollercoaster here but there is a 40 min wait and we haven't got time as we have an ADR for dinner. We look round Mickey and Minnie's houses and DS2 is pleased to see Pluto's kennel! We squeeze in a last ride on Peter Pan (using FPs) then head for the exit.
We have a 5.40pm ADR for dinner at Ohana in the Polynesian Resort. We catch a launch over to the hotel, it is a bit chilly on the water. We make our way into the hotel and find the restaurant. We check in and are given a buzzer. We have a quick walk round until our buzzer goes off within 10 mins.
We really enjoy the food and atmosphere at Ohana, the boys take part in all the entertainment. I have a cocktail and the boys try raspberry lemonade but don't like it much. We like the chicken wings and salad, although some of the meat is a little tough. Pudding is yummy but quite stodgy. As the boys are getting tired we catch the monorail back to the car park. We watch a few fireworks from the car then head back to the villa.
Tomorrow is a "rest day"!
