Micheal Jackson admits to settling past claims

Micca,
To me, it's not a matter of taking the money. It's the fact that these parents in effect pimped out their child to a GROWN ADULT! They let him have sleepovers with their young sons! They let him sleep in the same bed as their child!

They let the awe of having their child hang with a celebrity, a superstar cloud their judgment. And through the years it's been well documented and highly publicized that Jackson was a "suspected" pedophile.

That's what disgusts me about these parents.

I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't do everything in my power to make sure that person was unable to harm other children. Accepting a settlement, IMHO, is an agreement to accept payment for the use of my child and also a conscious decision to not care about the pain and suffering of future victims. That is unacceptable to me. Anyone who settles for a monetary amount in lieu of prosecuting a child molester is commiting a moral crime, and it should be a legal crime, IMO. Btw, the victims family does not pay for the prosecution of a criminal.

That's how I feel too. Just knowing the molester of my child got away with it and didn't have to face some sort of punishment, would make me sick to my stomach. But what makes me disgusted is that these parents would allowed their children to stay w/ Michael Jackson when they suspected him of possibly molesting their children and he had been accused of it before. That the money Michael Jackson gave them seemed more important than the well being of their children is what makes me sick.

I've always been surprised that people continue to trust MJ, too. . .even after allegations that weren't proven yet. I mean, there are enough allegations out there to cause someone to at least be a little concerned or worried or SUSPICIOUS when this semi-man takes an interest in one's child!

On a side note: when my dd (now 12) was about 2 or so, i was looking at a People magazine that had a 2 pg picture of MJ.
I was just thinking how grotesque he looked when my daughter pointed at him (from my lap) and said, "monster, monster".

I'm for tort reform, but I do know that Jennyanddots comments re: the McDonald's case are correct. And, everytime I've gotten coffee at McDonald's, I think to myself, "gee, they really ought to get better lids". You'd think they'd have lids like Starbucks. . .they don't. The lids barely fit on the cup, and don't fasten well.
