Michael's to carry Martha Stewart crafts - WHAT specifically is that?

hmm very curios. I have a new KBHome so last month I started getting Martha Stewart Living free for the next 6 months (I guess sicne she now designs some neighborhoods for kb). I like some of her crafts in the magazine but I'm hoping anything in a store would be a little more practical.

All I know is it's coming out the end of April and my local Michael's keeps moving everything! I went in for Paint Pens that are on sale for $1.88 this week. I went where they always are and no, there not there. So I ask and was told to go back to the left corner of the store. Not there. I grab someone else and they take me there again and said they were there yesterday! We finally found them down an aisle next to clearance and scrapbook paper! I don't know how they came up with that. The one person said the whole store was being moved around to make space for Martha.

All I know is it's coming out the end of April and my local Michael's keeps moving everything! I went in for Paint Pens that are on sale for $1.88 this week. Ours is revamping too! What was worse was they were training a new girl too. She had to do all the Jolee's. Poor thing! I worked at Michael's and plan-a-grams were not fun. We'll I didn't mind doing them but trying to train someone while doing it was tough.

I have to jet down there today, I'll see if they have any stuff out.

I may have to take a trip and see what mine is looking like. You guys have me very curious now.

Does anyone know if ACMoore is getting a new line too? I was there a couple weeks ago and the place was a wreck and so much was on clearance. I know they are getting new stock but didn't know if it was a specific line or not.

My Michaels had a bunch of really good paper (Basic Grey, Scrapbook Walls, Wild Asparagus) on super clearance for like 10 cents a sheet a few weeks ago. When I cashed out, the girl said she was sad to see these brands go it and Martha was going to be designing a majority of the paper they'd be carrying from now on. So I'd assume with her paper we'll get embellishements and maybe some tools. She gave me the date for the big rollout, I don't remember when she said it was.

And our AC Moore was a disaster zone too.

HMMM I hope it's not super expensive. I like Martha and the stuff she does but Mikes has a weaker scrap section than ACMoore to begin with, I hope this doesn't impact the store in a negative way. Putting all your eggs in one basket isn't always a good thing. Pun intended! LOL

I would be interested in her tools though. She always has really nice and innovative tools for her kitchen.

I know they were dunping alot of things when I was there...so much on clearance.

I'm not such a fan of Martha, but I have a student in my card class that just LOVES her...so if I do some cards with her stuff, I'll have at least 1 student in my class

So according to the forums on the Martha website she is hooking up with EK Success. That's cool in my book. Also unconfirmed source (READ the mother of a mike's employee) said that there will be 160 new items. She also said that it will now be referred as the Paper Crafting Dept.

Should be interesting. Man I wish I still worked there, I could get the skinny on everything.

I was there yesterday and resisted buying out a bunch of papers (have a huge, gigantic stash of PP. ) But I did see them clearing out one full isle for (I'm assuming) MS products. I grabbed a flier they had out and actually wasn't that impressed. It looks a little like the old CM style of PP's to me. I'll have to see what it looks like in person to tell.

I did read over on 2 peas that some of her paper and albums will be 18x18". I'm not really sure what I'd do with the ginormous paper/albums like that. I have a hard enough time doing my 12x12's sometimes.

Oh and another thing I read is that MS products will be excluded from all coupons for at least a year!

I know our Mike's is being re-vamped.. but they had a lot of new papers.. actually one whole aisle both sides.. DD and I almost fell over... we had been there and usually don't go back unless there are sales because they didn't have paper... so one aisle w/ both sides filled was a thrill...

I just talked with my friend about the Martha's scrapbook isle at Mike's (she is the event coord.) She said that they have a video of her stuff for the employees, but she didn't see it yet. I might stop by to get a peek, and I'll report back if I can see it. I mean, if I'm doing a card making class, there might be some information I need on that tape

She did say there was a full isle of the paper at our store too. And that there was a ton of papers on sale in the main drive isle...so I'll have to check that out too...for research puropses of course

They were handing out flyers on Martha Stewart stuff today. It said it'll arriving on April 29. It's anything from crafts to scrap booking supply's. I have to tell you from the flyer I wasn't very impressed. I hope this isn't a sign of the times to come.

Our Michael's has been rearranging for a couple weeks now I think. They have been putting the flyers into bags with purchases probably since the end of March at least. The already have free project sheets on display for scrapbooking and card making. I'm not very impressed either
